just wonderin if trychomes carry on changing colour wen harvested,or do they just stay clear if harvested too early?and do u really need a pocket microscope or cud u just wait till the clear ones stop glistenin back at u?

Ive been watching trichs as a nug dries and it seems like they keep changing after being cut.

they will change after being cut. At the very least the plant will continue to live for a period while drying. Once the plant is indeed dead there are processes that continue with moisture that break down enzymes stored in the plant. There's a lot of activity going on after plants get cut :)

Its really worth paying the extra money.
You see a completely different view of your plant,
its beautiful.

Do you have Radio Shacks there? Their lit mini-scope is on sale right now. It's not the cat's meow but it is enough, it will do the job. If you don't have them, order online.

And yes, trichome's will continue to change after harvest, through drying and curing, but that doesn't mean you want to harvest early and hope they end up what you want them to be.

What would be the best microscope for trichome checks??

I have never researched to find out if one or which on is actually the best. I have an old one I picked up at a garage sale years ago, one like many here might have used in high school or college courses. I will nip a bit here and there and put it under the scope and look ... but I do have one of the Radio Shack ones like I posted the info for that I will use for early checking on the plants themselves, and it will do the job. Hovering with it is a bit tough at times but if you are steady you can get a good enough look, at least I can, to see the trichomes well enough to know if I feel it is time to nip a bit here and there from different levels of the plants for a better closer look.

Maplin sell them, got a 100x one from there.
got one from toys-r-us its a eye-clops x200 £20, u plug it into a telly and damm the veiwing is good, takes a bit of getting use to and it looks a bit funny cos its a kids toy, but it does the job really well.

i also use an older high school style scope and it works really well. i have a radio shack one but i dont really like it and i always have to mess with the batteries to get the light working right.
