if your going to go with the strobe light then you might as well have a continuous loop of "play that funky music" jamming constantly,

lol if the world was full of people like these ^^^^^^^^^^ the world would still be known to be flat.
I just wondered the same thing so searched the thread. I dont think you should try using strobe as the only source of lighting but perhaps along side. Im experimenting with LED's for my grow, which I am sure there were people who thought that concept was ridiculous just like these jokers.
If you decide to experiment pm me and let me know how it goes.

Some people still do think the world is flat actually. theyve even got their own little club. Comparing a flat earth theory and using strobe lights for growing is a pretty big leap.
As for leds and this-Their is a big difference between leds and strobe lights though. Led's were considered too weak compared to hid for the money it cost to buy the first led units and the technology had alot of room for improvement still. I just dont see it their with a strobe light. How could we make a strobe light an effective growing tool? it may be possible but I dont see any growlight makers taking the large amount of time and money it would take to make and test a strobe light made for growing. Plasma lighting is probably the future. lol. Anyway, I'm with you on this one. A little experimenting never hurts, even if it is a bit silly.

lol i hear you. as i said though if used in conjunction with the regular lighting source would really be the only way because strobes dont have the correct wavelengths needed.
i wonder in a side by side if there would be any difference lol.. to answer your question about the lighting companies though.. could be they arent testing it for many reasons, many of which is due to their lack of creativity. they are all pursuing the same avenues of research through lenses to enhance the lights, yet most of the companies havnt even discovered or probably heard of the fresnel lense or that is what they would be looking into for lensing haha.
i may try this and post the results in one of my next grows just to see how much hateposts i get ;p
