Trying to decide, Oil or Hash?

What can I do with all my trim?

Oil or hash, Which do you all prefer. I've never done it before so I'm looking for input.

I like how the hash method seems to give you more and you just puts some in a bowl or on top your shit and light it up. But from what I have seen it looks like the oil is pretty much the same just 10 time better.... is this true?

Can I do both? or pretty much no way in hell because eathier method extracts all the availible THC?

well i prefer hash and believe its more of a preference although alot of people say oil has more thc which im not about to argue with but to get to the point you can do both you just wont get much oil.. its the way ive done it i make dry hash using a screen or tumbler to seperate the trichromes that you can and make your hash with them then take your left over plant material and make butane oil. the oil wont be of the highest quality and you wont get much but its a way to get some of both and not watse anything

Alright I'll look into that. I'm probably gonna just do some Ice-hash.. took me all damn day to find a place that sell bubble bags and its an hr away.

I'll see if they have an oil extractor to though...

do all you need for hash is a silk screen? i'm not tryin to make ice hash, rather screen it but what's all your takes on it?

well its not quite as simple as puttin leaves on a screen and poof you have hash but there are a few different ways to make hash using screens or tumblers if your gonna try to do it for the first time i would do a little research there are very good guides in some fairly recent hightimes and cannabis culture magazines aswell as plenty of info on the net or better yet get someone experienced to help you out

yea i've done some youtubing and such. get a silk screen and the clippings with trichromes and such...the sticky stuff not the fan leaves i know... then collect it all up put it in some plastic such as a cigarette wrapper and press down, wrap with newspaper and put in the oven .. more pressure after... and Hash. am i missing something?

Depends on how much leaf you have. I wouldn't spring for bubble bags if I've only got an ounce or 2 of sugar leaf/popcorn buds as it would not be worth it. I managed to squeak out maybe 3/4 of gram of oil from a mason jar of the above using the quickwash iso method. Oil was superb, a bit of effort was required to get the oil off the pyrex and into the vial and it was a tad messy but the potency of this oil was well worth it. Cost me like 4 bucks for 99.9 percent ISO and that was it.

i perfer hash as well, i use the 8 bubblebag setup. just mix with ice and water filter through bags let dry, press and smoke. easy. bags are really expensive though

yes but ive had trouble finding silk screens so i just give up and chuck my waste in the bin.

I prefer to make the honey oil. The mistake that many people make is not allowing the oil to fully disipate the extraction medium. FDD has a great butane extraction method link in the GrowFAQ and following his method I got some great honey oil. I added one step at the end. After I had evaporated all the butane out of the pyrex container and got the oil in the final container I placed the vial containing the honey oil into a shallow pan of water and left it on the stove on warm setting until there were no more bubbles coming out of the oil. Everybody raved about the taste and the high.

I like hash, you can get 1 gal bubble bags for 100.00. Good for small grows.

Well I grabbed a, 5 gal 3 bag set of the bubble bags... they did'nt have the extractors so maybe next time. Very $$$ but I want it to work.

I'll let you know how it turns out. Based on all the guides I see a variance of methods.

Here what I'm gonna do:

2 5 gal buckets
bags
trim
lots of ice
cold water...

-Put ice and cold water in bucket 1 and then add trim.
-Mix for 30min.
-Pour in bucket 2 with first 220 Micron bag.
-Let settle for 30 min.
-Take 220 micron bag out and place to side.
-Pour contents in bucket 2 back into bucket 1 with both my 73 micron bag and 25 micron bags in place.
-Let settle.
-Extract what I can from both bags.

-Then place the 220 bag back in water in Bucket 1 and repeat rinse 3 more times in the same fashion...

Sound good?

Then I need to dap off with towel while its in the bags as to get the water out.. let dry and cure in dry dark place for about 5-7 days and then wal-la! its done!

Am I missing anything?

i dont dab mine with a towel, it is really sticky and you dont want lint in your hash. if you have a pressing screen place on the pressing screen over some cardboard and press it. basically squeezing most of the water out. then you want to break it back up and let it dry. it is important to break back up to dry so no chance of mold setting in. if you dont have a pressing screen then plain cardboard is fine. I dried mine for a day and a half and it was ready to smoke. i pressed it back together and put in jars

i've done ISO oil before but with 70/30 and i let it sit/soak way too long im sure and got cannabis oil... where did you find 99.9 Isopropyl ?

but that stuff i made did deff. work... 1 or 2 drops on a bong bowl and it would just go around the room like twice... (instead of the first 1 1/2 people cashing the bowl).

If its quality over quantity u want then its no competition, do the oil. It just gets you so much higher then any other cannabis substance iv come across. Iv smoked a shit ton of hash in my time and i have yet to come by a sample of hash that beat out genuine hash oil(and iv had real deal FMCD). Just make sure u get the most expensive canisters of butane on the market, the cheap ones leave alot of impurities in the oil.

Ended up with about 20g's worth of hash. I did 3 rinses... and ended up spilling most of the bucket on the tile floor! Sucked..

But hash looks good all things considered
