Trying to decide on medium for Flood and Drain... Kindly asking for advice..

Use the terrapots.... They have worked wonders for me. i've never had my plants grow so fast and so healthy. I switched years ago to them, and haven't regreted it since. Little more expensive, but i re-use the soil and i am still getting consistent results and I've re-used it about 6 times now so they've paid for themselves already.

Below was my first grow with them. Those are the old style bags, now they come in black ones. I was running 2x4 flood n' drains back then. I never had issues with it clogging up either.. The bags kept it super clean.

With the terrapots how often do you flood???? I have been looking for more info about terrapots tough to find many people who grow with them......

I was flooding twice a day for 30 minutes. Usually just before the lights go on, then once again once they go out.

Yeah i know its hard to find info on them. They definitly aren't the most popular growing medium out their. I don't know why though? It works so god damn well.... Everyone should be using it. Have you checked out their website lately? It was down for months.. But its back up again. http://supernaturalbrand.com/products/terra-pot/

Do you use their nutes too?

Container size will depend on how many plants you wanna run per table. But I say use hydroton. Its relatively cheap, reusable and PH neutral. I like to put the clone/seedling in Rapid Rooter Plugs which are also cheap and PH neutral. Only issue I see would be you may have to flood more than 1-3 times a day but I think in the long run you'll be happy saving the money not having to always buy more rockwool as well as not having to soak and prep the rockwool every time.

around a 300 to 400 gph or somewhere in there, i used 396gph pumps in my flood trays and i had to upsize my overflow because the pump could pump faster than the drain could drain so for a 4x4 (2 of my trays) i would say it would be a great size for it.

I am in the last month of flowering on my 3 by 6ft flood and drain. I am watering twice daily for 5 minutes Using Hydrotron(expanded clay)

Once when the lights come on and then again 6 hrs later at halfway point in their day. no water at night. I was given the CO2 Boost bucket

from the company to try out and love it. I put the line that releases the CO2 right behind my fan aweek or so ago, And they are taking off.

I am going to grow using coco in a 3' x 3' table and was wondering what works better or what do the coco growers recommend? I'm pretty knowledgeable using DWC bubble buckets but want something more time convenient whats better drip feed or flood and drain?

How do you prep your blocks dadio?

When I have to prepare my blocks , I soak them in a tub of water over night. I soak in plain tap water for about an hour and then I change the water. After changing the water , I adjust the PH to about 6.0 and soak overnight. This works for me everytime and I don't fight PH issues during the grow. I don't use Hydroton.To me , it is just more cost and hassle to mess with . The Rockwool blocks have plenty of room for the roots to expand.

i have tried everything and i think hydroton rocks are great together with rockwool cubes the 4 inch types the bigger the better if you need mobility of the plants use huge rockwool cubes and no hydroton that way you can move the plants around the tables for better light outputs etc etc! or to reduce light stress etc etc!:joint::evil:

Just use pots you can move those around easily too..

coco mixed with perlite 3 to1 and drip feed reciculating i feed 4 time a day veg and bloom

I had never heard of them before. I was curious because it sounded like they were recycled terracotta clay pots broken into chips and turned into a hydroponic medium. But it turns out its a mixture of all kinds of shit. Apparently has 3 types of calcium...

I'm all for trying new mediums. Have been a in love with coco for a while. Got some silica rocks right now to try out. It's from botanicare. Knock off hygromite, called hydrolite. $30 bucks for 1 cubic foot or 7.5 gallons. Not bad. Even thinking of mixing it with coconut croutons for my flood table. I can't stand floating hydroton.

Terra-Soil® is a high quality growth medium. It is completely devoid of waste or animal products. The state-of-the-art blend consists of bog materials, leonardite, perlite and vermiculite.

The bog material is surface extracted and dried before blending. The deposit lies at the foot of an ancient volcano and so contains ash. The material also contains an abundance of sea shells which allow the deposit to be dated to the interior British Columbia post glacial period of 10,000 years ago.

The bog is a high quality phragmites type, named after the reed grass genus that it formed from, being dense and very stable. The leonardite is a naturally occurring oxidized form of lignite coal. The perlite and vermiculite, expanded volcanic rock and expanded mica respectively, are both odourless and sterile. Terra-Soil® is reusable up to five times.
