trying to install cool tube to 400 hps light

so i just bought my grow light.. a 400 watt hps, but without a cool tube..so im thinking about buying a cool tube from htgsupply but im not so sure how to install this into the ballast that came with my light and all because the cool tube has its own power soure and reflector as well...this is my first grow and im just trying to get things right.. these are the links to my light and the cool tube i plan to purchase..

well i really wanted to purchase a nice cool tube instead of a DIY, and ive already purchased a 400 watt hps light with ballast, i just need to know how to put these two together and make them work as one...not sure if that makes sense..but hopefully it does

the cool tube fixture comes with a socket and cord built in that fits most ballasts.
if it doesnt plug right into your ballast they sell an adapter that will convert and make it work

If you have a quick connect ballst, and the cooltube has a quick connect lamp chord you should be fine. If your ballast has the lamp chord hard wired into it you might need to do some small mods.

Worst case scenario you will have to rewire your ballast lampchord to the lamp socket in the cooltube, very very simpe, black on black, white on white, green on green, disconect all power first!!!!

If your really unsure or dont feel comfortable go to your local hydro shop, they should be happy to help you out.

i had a problem with my ballast and my cool tube and thats what i did

i had the choice to buy the converter but i didnt.
i just rewired the ballast lampchord to the lamp socket
it was very easy and i never done that before :)



1- First picture is the converter
2-is the ballast
3-reflector wire
