trying to make a grow box please help :D

whats bro, new here at rollitup.org. ive been smokin like all my life. im always high no matter what. but buying weed is getting kinda expensive due to increase of bills. so i was thinking it was time to grow weed for myself.

im gonna make a mini cabinet and turning it into a grow box.
its gonna be like 26'' tall, 18" deep and 20" wide.

ive been reading on this forum for bout like 4 days. and reading how to make a grow box. so imma try to make one similar to the pc grow case/ little woody grow box. cause im kinda on a budget.

i kinda figured out how to make the fans start. nut im not sure how manys fans i should use, i was thinking to use 4 fans, 2 intake 2 outake. i dont know if i should get 80mm, 100mm or 120mm computer fans. so what is your guys opinion about the fans, what kind and stuff? but if someone could give me what specific ac dc adapter i should use for the fans.

i figured out how to install the light, but am not sure how many i should use what kinds and what not. i guess im gonna use like the bulb kind.but should i put it on the back or on the sides? i read some of the topics in indoor growing but cant fully understand it. so help would really be appreciated.

also need help in installing a timer and could i just use a regular thermometer or do i have to make it fancy and what not?

im gonna cover the inside with mylar insulation, or something similar to it, if home depot or lowes dont have any. each corner im gonna try to seal it with caulk or something. im trying to make it kinda "stealthy".

about the odor, i was just thinking of getting an odor thing of some kind and put it in front of the outtake fan.

im gonna grow the plant with lst method.

if im missing some of the basic stuff to make the box please let me know.

ok so for light i would run cfl there energy eff. and they put out decent bud if grown right use two 26 watt (or more) for one plant remember more is better try to go for somthing like 6500K for the spectrum as the plant in veg need more blue on the chart then red witch would be 2700K in that range and a reg. thermometer will sufice and try to keep it around 76-80 degrees F and as far as fans use as many as you like i got 3 fans 2 10 " and 1 HUGE fan and reason being is wen there alot of air going past them it takes the cloud (that u dont see of course) of Oxygen and gives the plant more co2 REMEMBER DONT OVERWATER HUGE mistake by grower use 200 ml every two-three days plants love wet/dry and as far as mylar it reflectas heat and you dont want that go for a cheaper alternative and paint the inside walls white mylar only reflect 10-20% more light BUT also reflects heat. paint absorbs heat a little and use an osilating fan to build stems stronger

Yeah, with that size box, you'll have to use CFL's. 4 fans would be way to much. 2 is fine. As for odor control, you won't be able to do much unless you're willing to have it external. As far as poer adaptor goes, any 12v power adapter will work, the more fans you use the higher amperage (or milliamps) you'll need. Check your fans they will have a amp/milliamp rating. For a timer, get any timer from a dollar store or walmart. Your lights won't need anything special for a timer. Any thermometer will do. Happy growings

120mm fans are pretty good.

My cab in progress is roughly the same size as yours. I've thought long and hard about cooling and I've come up with some cool ideas (at least I think so) Use a 120mm fan roughly at the height of the pots you're going to be using, at the bottom left or right hand side of your cab. This eliminates the need for a fan inside the cab to blow over the foliage (simualting wind, and will make your plant stronger.) Then you are going to want a second 120mm fan at the top on the opposite side of the cab for an exhaust. You could put some of your girlfriends tights over the intake to eliminate particulates entering your grow space.

I've got a pretty cool idea for my height adjustable lighting rig that incorporates 2 80mm fans to cool the bulbs. You'll have to wait for my thread in the Do-It-Yourself Forum for that though

They have some DYI carbon filters that only cost like 28 bucks for a good one. Later I'll post you a picture of a light setup you might wanna try for that kinda setup.

I just added 2 PC Fans to a cab about that size, I am running them off a Plug in transformer that I robbed off an old phone charger. Just make sure it has an output of 12vdc and my 120mm fans draw .35mA each, so 2 of those ($10ea at radioshack), on a 1A plug in charger. It keeps my box with a 400W bulb nice and cool.View attachment 1317664

ohh. i was gonna use 1 charger for each fans, then i was gonna put my fan at the back piece, one upper and one lower. was kinda making the lil woody box but bigger. what did you do to make your fan stay in place?

edit: where did you get your reflective stuff?

i put a screen from a window between my fan and my box then used 4 grabber screws to secure the fan.
I also put a $15 fart fan on the top that sucks the heat through a homemade carbon filter at the top of my box, ill see if i have more pics and upload them.

I used emergency blankets. $3 at a camp store and tape or pinned them to my walls.

Regarding your oder issues mate go on line and get yourself some ( ona pro ) its amazing shit and its cheap
