Turning off light last two days effect crystals?

Hey guys, I've heard that turning off the lights for the last two days of flowering is suppose to greatly increase the crystals on the plant. Would this affect an autoflowering plant? Not sure if the lack of two days of light would mess with the growth or if it would actually increase the crystals. Thanks!

I don't have much experience with the dark period right before harvest but for what it's worth, I imagine the same principles apply and for whatever reason it works on non autos it should work on auto flowering strains

Well Ill be out of town the last 2 days before I harvest the rest of my pineapple express and kalashnikova, and will be turning off the lights for safety reasons so Ill let ya know if more trichomes/crystals appear over the 2 days of dark then a normal 2 days.

Just got back from my vacation and at first glance it appears that there are a very noticeable amount more crystals/trichomes. Ill confirm by checking pics that were taken 2 days ago. Hope this helps.
