Turning off the lights prior to harvest?

I've read articles on both sides of this debate and I've sided with the ones that say there is no proof that the plant's potency is increased because of what you do or don't do with the lights the last couple of days.
It is however proven that proper curing does increase potency and flavor. I's stick with what works and sort out the tales for what they are, tales. More than likely some one will come along and claim that leaving them in the dark is better. When they do, ask them compared to what? How do they know if it works if they are always cutting the lights off early? Maybe they are killing trichomes and bud swelling in the last two days by leaving the lights off.

It doesnt make a big difference at all...i always give my plants 24-72 hrs of dark before harvest just because it could give it a extra 1% of thc or something..who knows?? it doesnt hurt em so y not...if u really wanna increase thc get a UV light in ur grow room during flowering
Ok, thanks for the advice, i have read that turning the lights off stresses the plant thus creating more jasmonic acid causing the plant to increse its defences which are in this case THC and other compounds, but i agree at what cost maybe the extra light would have made the buds swell a bit incresing yield. One of my fellow growers tried using a pure pharm grade jasmonic acid on his plants in small doses during the flower cycle it did increse potency some but also made some strange looking buds, but at $8,910 for 50mg and $600 shipping (no bull shit look it up and get a quote) not worth it to me i will stick with natural growing.
