Tutorial to Growing with Cfl's

could you put in a blue bulb for veg and a red bulb in budding (along with CFLs) to get the right spectrum?
So i just received my LED boards for 1 grow.. But for my current grow sedlings about 1 week young.. I have 2 cfl and a flourscent 42inch tube going for 2 plants..

My question is i went to home depot and saw a 100 watt/5000 fl CFl bulb for 17 $ but the diamter "screwin" was HUGE.. what do i have to buy to get this to work with a regualar desk top light??

the cfl with refectors are great i used the 48w=300 bulbs from homedeopt and later added two lumm wings with feliz horticulture 125w each 2700k for the entire flower i just harvested my four beauties and lots of buds some light and fluffy the others very heavy and dense i placed a cheap led from ebay for 25 dollars right up against my powerplant and didnt with afgani#1 they had the heaviest buds and thick stems the 2 pre98 bubbas had very skinny stems but lots of light buds i followed the buds for less the entire way through and i am very pleased.thank you for the info.

i would go with at least 2 26w (100w equivalent) cfl's and then top it once it gets to about 2 feet tall and you will get a really nice fat lush plant with some really awesome cola's

when you switch to the soft white bulbs for flowering do you change the hours of light from 18 to 12.

by the way great information on cfl bulbs its solved alot of questions

Hi everyone,

I'm new to growing, doin some research before I start. This thread has given me some great info, but I do have one question: Heat aside, is there a way to put TOO much light into my grow room? I am going to be using a closet thats about 3x3 and I have my cfl set up planned, but I also have a couple 48" fluorescent light fixtures layin around so I was thinking of throwing them up in there. Since my main CFLs are 6500K, if i do put in the tube fixtures should I put 2700K in those or just keep it 6500K until flowering??

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

i run a mixture of 6500k and 2700k lights for my veg cycle just to keep the spectrum evened out but then i use strait 2700k for flowering and my plants usually come out pretty dank so i say the more light the better .. you could always use them as side lights or whatever :) the main thing is getting the best penetration of light through the leaves as possible :weed:
