Twin DR60 Grow Room Design. Opinions Please

Hi All,

First post on the forum! Here goes…

I’m thinking about putting together a little setup in my loft and would like to get some opinions.

I’ve put together an image showing the basic setup I’ve got in mind. I realise there are a load of other peripherals that will need to be included, but this is really the tent/system/light/environmental side which I want to get nailed first.

Ok, so the picture basically consists of….

2 x Secret Jardin DR60 tents (one for veg/motherin’, one for flowering)
2 x DWC buckets based on Rumpleforeskins excellent guide
2 x DWV Reservoirs (attached to the main buckets)
2 x Rhino Pro Filter
2 x RVK Fan Kit for extraction
1 x Cooltube with a 250W Metal Halide
1 x Cooltube with a 250W HPS

How does this sound? Can anyone think of any obvious flaws in this plan that perhaps I haven’t considered?

Any help, advice or criticism would be great.

Cheers all.

You would not need 250 watts to veg, 100 would do. No idea on the other stuff. I am vegging with 58 watts of LED in my dr60.

Thanks yesum - ok fair point. To be honset, I'd like to go as small and compact as possible with my mother room, so that I could go for a flower room. Do you know what the smallest tent out there is?

The DR40 is the smallest Jardin tent. 16"x16"x47". If you are trying to save money, you can veg in open if the strain is not real smelly. I had my vegging Afghan indicas out, but they started stinking, so into the tent.

I think you can get away without cooltube for 250 watt, unless ambient temps are real high. I took out my Phresh filter 8"x12", it was not working after 1 year. I got 2 mesh media bags and 10 oz. activated charcoal ($14 as opposed to $110 for Phresh filter) from pet store and made my own little filter, which I stuffed into exhaust hose. Do not know your budget, but filters seem too expensive. I will also look into refilling my old filter with new activated charcoal.

If you are new to growing, the usual advice is stick to soil. Hempy pots are pretty simple too.

I had used a 400w in the same tent. 5.5 oz off my first harvest. The heat was a bit of an issue, but you should do great with 250's and cool tubes. Good luck.
