Hey guys,

I have started a grow journal, but need some quick advice so I thought I would post on here this is my first grow and for the most part it seems to be going well, but I have a couple of plants with twisted leaves. Can any one tell me if this is ok? Or if I need to take action?

Thanks for looking :)

Hi thanks guys. The PH is stable at 6, I'm using T5 light wave, the light is 40 cm away from the canopy They are on 1/4 strength nutes (General Hydroponics), the res temp is 24c, air temp is 26c and the EC is a little higher than I would like at 986. But to be honest these little ones were growing like this before the nutes got to them. Out of 8 plants only 2 are like this, do you think they maybe just have worse genes than the others? Sorry if that's a dumb question I'm a total noob, thanks again and here is a pic of the set up:

They'll be ok hun-- just get those T5's right down withing a few inches of them.... and watch the nutes-- it may be a bit high for seedlings... General Hydro has a real specific schedule- don't go by the bottle!!!

IF you dump your rez. every week and change to fresh nutes- use the 'weekly" schedule-- IF you only dump at the switch to 12/12 and in week 5 of flower-- use the "Phasic Feeding" schedule...Not my info- is from The MFg. ;) Remember- measures are per U.S Gallon of water!

It is a possibility that its just genetic.
I have had a seeds of a few strains that popped and looked that way.
They straightened out by their second set of true leaves.

From seed? looks like a clone from a plant that barely started to flower, but just enough to jack up the leaves
with the single leaves and such.....just my opinion :)

been awhile since i grew from seed

Same here i had a TW grow with totally shriveled leafs ....It took forever to start proper growth BUT when it did it took over the rest in size and speed of growth...I think it will be ok ....:weed:

Do you have a fan circulating air? I've seen leaves do funny stuff in grows with stagnant/still air. I would not worry too much though. They look healthy enough. If they don't change within the next few leaf sets then there might be a real issue. With more leaves it would be easier to diagnose as well.

In the one pic it looks as if you have your power strip/timer laying on the floor. Might want to raise it up JUST in case. Better safe than sorry. I've made careless moves before and flooded my box lol. It's easy to do if your focus is off :)

Personally I'd never put plants that size into a wilma. You have to have a decent root system before they go in otherwise they look very sad like that. Glad to see they are perking up though, those roots must be kicking in. I'll subscribe to that journal you mentioned, I always like seeing a wilma grow.

Thanks reddiamond, big learning curve for me lol. Scotty I feel like a bit of an idiot yeah water and electricity don't mix well lol I will raise all the wires off the floor thanks for pointing out my painfully obvious mistake, as for the fan I have just put in a small desk fan. fxbane yeah the roots are really kicking in now some are growing up as well lol, I will be setting up a new smaller tent soon for clones so I wont have to use seeds again because you're right they did look really small to start.

Thanks guys

Hi Reddiamond, yeah it's really hard as they are all displaying different symptoms lol, been told this can happen growing seedlings from a central res. PH is 5.8 but is prone to change quickly at times, the ec reading is 830 and canopy temp is 32.8 oc. Need to grow from clones next time I think.
Thanks

You have moved either the plant or the light. You'll see "swirly-looking" leaves if you move the pot around. The plant will always try to orient itself to face the light. The swirls are the result of the plant trying to frame the light. BigSteve.

ppm and ph are fine but you need to drop those temps mate, you need to be under 29 at least, best is around 25-26
