Two filter q’s

Anyone know how often a six inch vivosun filter will last if used constantly throughout the year? Also, I assume placing it on its butt so it’s vertical instead of hanging horizontally makes no diff but will value your thoughts. I promise.

What size tent? How much cfm pushing through it? Dank ass genes? Going for zero smell?

Haven’t run that brand or any long enough to make any longevity claims but if you’re running it 24/7/365 with some smelly stuff I’d say youd get a few great months out of it? Maybe?

I’m using an AC infinity one (6”) also. In a 3x3 with 4 plants that are just starting to smell pretty pot like and running a T6 van on speed 2 with no smell in the exhaust area
I only use carbon when it starts to smell like other than spicy plant matter though..

Pretty crazy, I have the same fan and same filter. Two plants in a two by four. Had been cranking it all the way to ten but now realize the pre filter was dirty and blocking the flow. Probably cut it back to 8 of ten during lights on. Plants are six weeks old and stink nicely but no smell escaping the filter at least for now. I run it on two during the six hour dark cycle. I hadn’t thought of removing the filter when there’s no smell. That will help extend the life I’m sure. Thanks.

Even lower fan speeds may help you out from what I have read about scrubbing air. It’s about carbon and “contaminated” air contact time to get it free of the smells etc
Idk your general growing environment air supply but if it’s your bedroom or something pretty clean I’d say you wouldn’t be wasting much on cleaning that “dirty” air. Carbon doesn’t know what it’s binding to lol
Definitely keep a clean pre-filter too
