there is no definitive answer, it is all in what u percieve or believe. many people swear by flushing 2 wks before harvest, and what that means is putting ph'd water & only water, through ur pots, at least 3x-5x the amount of ur pot size, equivalent in water. This is "suppose" to flush out the remaining nutrients in ur soil or hydro, & prevent further uptake of those nutrients to the plant, thus to the bud; this in whole is suppose to help produce a smoother smoke & one less full of chemicals from the nutrients.
On the toss side of the coin u have people like me, that will fertilize until about a week before harvest & will not flush. I do not believe & have not seen that flushing changes anything in the final grow or bud. Actually people like me tend to think, final flushes are an unnecessary & only cause stress to a plant in the most pivotal stage in bud growth!!! People like me will tell u, it has nothing to do with the flush, & everything to do with PROPER curing, which takes time, patience, & knowledge, that creates the end product & that smooth smoke.
I bet if u searched for something like: to flush or not....u would find more info
