ok, so i will take a look for these and t5's. Just to be sure, I dont need to look for the orange or yellow or blue color, just cfl's with 2700k spectrum anything 23+ watts? THANK YOU EVERYONE!Cfls with a 2700k spectrum. Anything 23 watt+. id say put 5 or 6 of them around your plants
Oh yea, get those halogens out of there, your just wasting money on your energy bill. And you really shouldnt have to add more light if you are using a 600watt HPS. I think your problem is over feeding. Whats your feeding schedule?
no it isnt.... i had the lights closer and burnt one of the plants. I had the light at a good distance with the shortest plant on a table, and the other two on the ground, but one of them monsters would just grow over night right up into the light, and that keeps happening. The shorter one keeps her distance, but the other two are like wild weeds that are just growin up and up and up, im pretty sure they should have male dna because they are a pain in the arse! just joking?what type of lights are u using? i think you can move them much closer...
oh i see. is your 600w HPS air cooled?
well i purchased fem seeds, out of the 4 one was a male, threw him out right away. These dont have any balls, but are growing the same way as the male did. These have white hairs all over the place but no balls. Could they still be males possibly? again no ballsIts true tho, male plants tend to grow faster then females.
I have a pretty nice sized room in the basement framed off and devided in half, half veggy and half flowering. The basement is a non-finished basement but my husband made a room, well framed a wall and made a door. The walls are painted with some kind of white paint, semi gloss I think, whatever the books I have said to use we used.I doubt they are males if they are not showing balls this far along. But I could be wrong on that. I'm not sure if you mentioned this or not, but where do you have the plants, i.e. grow tent, dedicated room, etc. etc. And how reflective are the walls. You could use mylar to help bounce light around to the plant. T5's would be o.k. for a secondary light source to add more light to what you have, but they are mainly used for the vegging stage. Since you are flowering, try to get the plants into as small of a room with your lights as close as you can without burning them. Toss a fan in there for air circulation as well. As for other lights that help in the flowering process anything that comes in the red and yellow spectrum would be good. That usually means something with a lower kelvin rating. (2500 K I think)
So far the northerns are the only ones that had a male. I also purchased them from a place that most people didnt receive seeds at all or were mixed males/fems. I of course didnt know this until after I purchased. I would hope that paying extra for fems you would get what you pay for, but as you say, they aint reliablemales grows faster than females. atleast mature wise. and balls show way before pistils ( if its a hermie) trust me, i know.
i just threw out my one and only hermie last week ....it was twice as young as my female and it grew bigger in no time PLUS it showed sex after just one week.
punk ass feminized seeds aint reliable
3-4 days between waterings? could also be letting them get a little dry, under a 600W HPS (HPS definately tend to get warm which will dry them out faster) Do you have a hygrometer for your soil?i give them ph'd water about every 3-4 days, and the nutes added every other watering.
That very well could be the problem too! I have one of those things, sorry I dont know what it is called, that i stick in the soil and it tells me if its dry or needs watering, which I dont really use because I have been using my finger in the soil, doing the apx 2 inches in to see if it is still moist. So in your opinion, if i start watering every 2 days or so, will I start to see a difference?3-4 days between waterings? could also be letting them get a little dry, under a 600W HPS (HPS definately tend to get warm which will dry them out faster) Do you have a hygrometer for your soil?
You want the soil to dry out but not TOO dry (if the soil is seperating from the edges of the pots its too dry). I water my plants every 2 days usually, using a feed-feed-flush cycle. (i'm under a 1000W HPS which gets quite warm so i dry out a little faster)
Just throwing ideas out there
