Hey guys,

New to this page and new to DWC with Autos so, I am looking for some advice if possible. I have just purchased Fastbuds Stardawg and before I do ahead and root them, want to cover off the following:

. * what temp should the res be roughly night/day?
* what temp should the tent be at day/night?
* what distance from theplant would you have the lamp?
* what are the basic nutes the plants need to survive?
* for example, on a auto, how many times would you do a res change based on 60/70 days?

I have grown in soil previously however, hydro is a whole new ball game to myself, seen and heard so many wonderful things about it yet, so many horror stories but I am not want to be deterred haha...

I know the basics of PH and Ppm so, any other relevant information would be greatly appreciated ...

PS, if you could keep it laymans terms would be superb haha stay blazed ✌

need some more info, what kind of light are you going to be using to start with? what medium are you going to use? have you looked into buying a prebuilt hydro system so you could get the idea easier?
To Answer a few questions though... For nutes, i use Flora General Hydroponics, Grow, Bloom, Micro. i Have Calmag on hand just in case, and i have hydroguard on hand just in case. i Currently have two cfls 45w on a 2 week old seedling about 1 1/2 inch away in a 2x3x5 grow tent.

Hi mate,

I have a RDWC 2X30l with 47l top res, 600w hps dual spectrum dimmable lumi amd 8" rhino exhaust. I'm limited for height and in previous regular soil grows I've did I have used a trellis net however, heard mixed reports about the Autos and been told just to let them do their thing however, don't want to over stretch them and waste energy.

you arent going to want to use that 600w hps for the veg stage, you should have that plant under a t5 or a MH bulb during veg.

"The ideal temperature during the vegetative stage is between 68-77°F (20-25°C) with moderate humidity while also providing slightly cooler temperatures during dark periods. Once your plant reaches the flowering stage, it can thrive at a comfortable room temperate with low humidity. Unless you are adding additional CO2 to your grow room, a temperature under 82°F (28°C) is ideal."

For nutrients i personally use the Fox Farm Trio -- *Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom*, Cal/Mag and Hydroguard.

Here's a quick reference guide to use as a starting point:

Grow Light Closest ~ Sunlight Furthest
150W
8" (20cm) 10" (25cm) 12" (30cm)
250W 10" (25cm) 12" (30cm) 14" (35cm)
400W 12" (30cm) 14" (35cm) 19" (48cm)
600W 14" (35cm) 16" (41cm) 25" (64cm)
1000W 16" (41cm) 22" (55cm) 31" (79cm)
