i use a fogger in my DWC system. The water level is about 1 inch below the botom of the netpots. The roots can get lots of oxygen and the fogger keeps them damp.

well hell Im right here lol.I have actually been trying to play with foggers and find a good way to intergrate them into systems.Im looking for the best unit per cost and reliability.I found some on ebay for about $17 shipped but they have single heads not 3 heads but I dont know how much are 1 will fog up completely. I have seen more exspensive ones used by a budy but he didnt play to long as his kept clogging with nutrient salt build up. Im thinking of maybe a double chamber res setup with a small inner chamber with plain ph water to add ultar fine mist to the root zone then either an aero setup around it or maybe a direct flood line to each net pot.Now for cloning these are a great thing and easy since your not running nutes in the res for clones just water they work good just got to work out the timer settings.I have so many thing to get to building including my own Bloom box knock off to prove a point but that will be for this spring when its warmer out in the shop as its about -25 F right now and I dont even wanna go out there.I have a few ipods to get sold then I might take a bit of that moeny and order me a few fogger setups and see what I can do with them..Im gonna keep watching to see what you guys come up with

I came up with this. Its a flood and drain bucket system, but when the water is done flooding a few inches of water is still left in the pot bucket and can be used for ultrasonic fogging when its time for the next feeding. then i fog my plants for a couple hours again followed by an immediate 2 min. flood and the whole cycle starts itself over again.

where is your fogger?

At the bottom of the orange bucket. the flood tube was installed 3" from the bottom of the bucket to allow enouph nutrient soulution to rest there when the bucket is done flooding. Or also I can have it set up with an airstone

wouldnt the nutes still clog the fogger in the bottom of the bucket?


or do you plan on cleaning the disc on the fogger alot?

The nutes are going to clog the fogger no matter where you put it. gotta keep em clean and order backup discs. they don't clog that easy or often unless its a piece of shit. I've seen them run for months before without any cleaning.

Are the backup disk replacements, or temporary until you clean the main disk? Or put differently, are the backup disks something that requires a continual investment?

The disc is like having a spare air filter in case the one your using gets fucked up.The small circle piece on top of the fogger is the "disc" and sits on top of the "head" . some foggers have more heads than others and are more powerful.

I have a cloner I made out of the mister deal. It hasn't clogged on me yet, over 6 months, and I put it in my DWCs when I can. I bought spare discs which are pretty cheap considering. I don't know about an ebb and flow mister table per say. Heres a thought though, still have the table flood like a real ebb and flow and have the mister run all day to keep things moist and give them some food. I honestly don't know about a mister ebb though. I find they work best in DWC or DWC/drip type grows. I still use the cloner but I am obsessed with aero now so I have a couple aero cloners that get more use.

I might not be explaining well but I think it was munchbox who posted the pic of the external mister. Is the flood and drain going to have a dark area for roots, are you using netpots in a table above the flood area? If so run the mister in like a 2 gallon container with a lid and have a connection to your table so the mist keeps the roots moist, but still flood the sucker.

we want to find cheaper misters that can work with a fan blowing thru piping. how to make a fan without it shorting out or something because of the condensation and water and shit.

you can distance the fan from the res with some pipe, so a computer fan would work pretty well. I just ordered some shit to make my own nutramist... so I discard the humidifier I'm using, too much of a pain in the ass to deal with...

im thinking what if... i have a tubberware something the size of a shoe box. put the mini fogger in there. run short tubing, while installing a fan on the other side...something like a cheap axial/pc fan? something to mimic that nutramist fogger. im pretty sure thas all it is.

The fan should be placed on top of like a 3" PVC pipe set vertical. See in the nutramist diagram with the red arrow says "o2"? at the tip of the arrow, thats where you want to place your muffin or computer fan. Get a fan with an adjustable volt power adapter. if you have a 12 volt fan make sure the power plug adjusts all the way down to 2 volts so you can be sure to get the proper flow of fog you need.

munchbox you line your box with polysheild or something of the like?

i just answered that question for you on the other thread. your talking about my grow box right? or are you talking about something that has to do with the fogger?
