covered in my threads and in Ed Rosenthals latest book, leaves are either sinks or sources, a source provides energy, a sink stores energyCould you let me know what you mean by this statement?? Thanks
I beg to differ.Plant wants N, purple stems indicate the leaf is a sink, has nothing to do with P
While this statement is correct, when your main stems are totally purple that's generally a pretty good indication that there is a phosphorus deficiency happening. Nitrogen can cause purple stems also, but it's generally more localized and streaky than what his pics show.covered in my threads and in Ed Rosenthals latest book, leaves are either sinks or sources, a source provides energy, a sink stores energy
Because that "20-10-20" formula of NPK pretty much explains it for you and the rest of us !! lmaothen perhaps you could explain how I get away with using a general purpose 20-10-20 all the way thru the whole grow without any defeciencies???
LOL cause my nutes are not available in hydro stores and only cost a dollar a pound, I buy 25 lb bags that last years. Funny your posting in UB's thread and never heard of JR Peters???Because that "20-10-20" formula of NPK pretty much explains it for you and the rest of us !! lmao
Honestly, what other hydro store bought grow nutes have a NPK rating THAT high ?
Unless I missed it on the shelves of the 3 different hydro stores I frequent.
Nice job. Like I said in my Phosphorous Abuse thread, some think that if a little P is a good thing, then a lot of P is even better. Of course it's not, but the oil companies play into these feelings, and give folks what they think they want. Again the question is, "how much P is required by the plant to promote good flowering?" Is it the typical 1-5-3 or a 1-1-1, or a 3-1-1?LOL cause my nutes are not available in hydro stores and only cost a dollar a pound, I buy 25 lb bags that last years. This plant, harvested last week was 2 foot tall, colas were 14 inches, it was grown under a 400 watt CMH with nothing but Peters Professional 20-10-20, yield was 4 oz's
I'm still waiting for that explanation???
I use Jack's either the 20-20-20 or the 10-30-20 Both are great. I shop at a Nursery, not a hydro store. I refuse to pay what they charge for that canna-specific fertilizer bull shit.Because that "20-10-20" formula of NPK pretty much explains it for you and the rest of us !! lmao

I guess I don't see what that has to do with the other posters' question? Just because you don't get a P deficiency using 20-10-20, why does that mean that he doesn't have a phosphorus deficiency? It's pretty clearly P.then perhaps you could explain how I get away with using a general purpose 20-10-20 all the way thru the whole grow without any defeciencies???
You're a man in my book DanielsGB !! +REPThose plants look great. Sorry if I came off rude. I hate to see anyone spend extra money if they can save some cash. You switch avatars like a stripper changes G-strings.
I'll check out some of those sig links.

Who told you it's important to have a high nitrogen level for cloning? This goes out to anyone who can answer from experience or just personal knowledge. I'm far from a noob, have about 15 grows under my belt, but recently have run into some clonning problems. I use an easy cloner ( 2x60 site )and been messing with some different strains and out of 60 I would get like 15 to 20. So I went to my local Hydro store and picked up a bottle of NITREX. I am implementing this into my normal feedings for my mothers. Since it is important for the mother to have a high nitrogen level when taking clones, I figured this couldnt hurt. Any coments or suggestions?????? Thanks.
Honestly, I've always backed off on my nutrients in the week prior to cloning. I make sure to thoroughly water the mothers about an hour before taking cuttings, and I get almost 100% success rate. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that my experience has been opposite. The guy selling him the nitrex silly.
A well fed donor does make for better cuts.
