Unsure of Diagnosis

Hello this is my 1st grow, i'm under a 400w hps in a poorly ventilated closet. The only 'fresh' air is drawn from a fan underneath the plants that's pointing upwards towards the reflective boards underneath. Air is pushed out another fan on a shelf above just pointing out of the closet, which I usually leave cracked except when they're sleeping.

I've got a shroom bag to supplement C02 above. Temperature maintains anywhere 80-90degrees. I water sometimes twice a day but have been doing it less. It's always PH corrected water but haven't gone into PPM or nutrient enhanced water. I've given them a couple doses of humboldt honey and no nutrients during veg. Before I moved them to flowering I put them in these bigger pots with some bat guano mixed in. I've given them a couple dashes of bat guano on top of the soil during flowering as well. They were all topped or FIMed.. one of the two. :confused:I can't remember. At this stage they're 4 weeks thru flowering.

During veg they had a really shitty life on my window sill for like 2 months getting maybe 3 hrs of good sunlight a day, the rest indirect. The other 9 were male and were summarily executed. I've got no idea what strand or anything about these plants. They're POSSIBLY from some pretty swag stuff, I think I got some from this really nice purple dank. Some from this coffee bud too. I think the one on the right is coffee, the other ones just smell kinda weird really stanking up my house though.

:eyesmoke: Anyway I've got 3 problems. 1st is some minor leaf yellowing.. they're not all the way yet but certainly getting there. Another is these weird dots photographed. I did some troubleshooting. Am I looking at nitrogen deficiency? How can I practically solve this without ordering something? 3rd problem is the leaf wrinkling in the other pic.. they're mostly up by the colas, some repair themselves but they usually look weird their whole lives. Usually fold inward like a taco, but they're stiffer like cat ears kinda, I can reverse them too to point up but then they look even stranger. Haven't a clue what kind of problem that is. Magnesium is what I suspected? But I don't want to kill them at this stage of flowering with a noob mistake, so please, experts, imbue in me your wise man's input! bongsmilie

So how am I doing guys what can I do to increase my yield and solve my problems? Also I have a strong desire to manicure them, get more colas to the buds. Not sure if I should tho. I've done some experimental super-cropping mostly during veg, low and high stress training as well the only plant ontouched is the 2nd from the left that hasn't been lolipoped at all. Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it. Hope pics are sufficient, the HPS is the only source of light so I had to keep it on.

Ok, the Humbolt Honey is a finishing agent if i'm correct. That should be used in the last few weeks before harvest to add sugars to the plant. Mag def are usually come with the purpling of stems and the veins of the leaf. I believe u have N def. I also think u are watering too much. Water when the soil tells you it needs it, by feeling it or using a moisture meter. As for increasing your yield, at this point lollipoping and a little LSTing is probably ur best bet. If u do decide to trim, i would sick to the big fan leaves in the center of the canopy. And don't go to crazy with it. You just want to let some light into those center buds that might not usually get any light. That's why I think LSTing is better for this. Good Luck and Happy Smoking :bigjoint::bigjoint:

"sweeteners", molasses, honey, etc dont add sugars to the plant. They are to feed the microbes in the soil which in turn promote a healthy root zone. The plant produces sugars through photosynthesis. I think they are unnecessary and sold mostly to unsuspecting growers who think they'll make their bud taste like candy.

I would take some time to read up on plant nutrition deficiencies. All plants use the same basic micro and macro nutrients. Each element is needed for different aspects of growth. Youll be able to find a lot of info with a google search. Don't look for cannabis specific material. Look for plant biology sections on university websites etc.

You said you gave them bat guano. Do you know what that does for the plant? What nutrients it provides?

Calcium and Magnesium deficiencies are pretty common and can cause yellowing and "tacoing" but only you can really know as youre the one caring for the plants.

Training is done to create an even canopy so that the most flowering sites are exposed to the most intense light. Pruning (lollipoping) is done to eliminate branches that would be shaded by the canopy and produce inferior buds.

Suggestion for increasing yields: Read about plant biology from a reputable, non cannabis specific source. Keep it simple. Get quality soil and basic fertilizer if needed. Skip the "bloom boosters, sweeteners, bud swellers, mega frosts" and the like. Make sure you are providing the optimal environment.

I would suggest reading this if you are going to grow Organic, Teaming with Microbes available from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Teaming-Microbes-Organic-Gardeners-Revised/dp/1604691131/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377351084&sr=8-1&keywords=Teaming+with+Microbes+The+Organic+Gardener's+Guide+to+the+Soil+Food+Web.

I prefer Microbe Tea's and they sure perform very well in my organic grow!!!

One of the oldest tricks in the book is the use of unsulfured molasses.....and yes it feeds the microbes in the soil and they in turn feed your plant better.....read the book above!
