Unusual Budsites

I noticed a lot of my fan leafs developing extra leafs after I switched them to 12/12 lighting. Then I noticed they had hairs. And then crystal growth. Now I found a few that are full on bud sites. Is this unusual?

its the chinensis genes in the plants showing themselves. chinensis (named because the species was from asia, mainly china) was an early species classification (like indica or sativa) that isn't widely recognized anymore, but sometimes this characteristic pops up in a pheno.

first post! :D been lurking for a while now soaking up all the info I can find like my plants soak up the light. :)

I think it's chinensis like 1two3 said. I found a higher def picture online that showed the bud site. Apparently chinesis will show buds in the middle of fan leaves. Why doesn't this trait get bred for? I wouldn't mind if EVERY fan leaf had a bud! I'd like a plant with giant colas on top, huge popcorn nugs on the bottom, and every fan leaf has a bonus bud! How hard is that to breed for?

Ive had the extra fan leaves on one of mine...but did not get the bud forming on them...looked like it was going start one, but it didn't develop enough to say, its a bud.

few odd leaves/ some fingers fused???

Thats really cool. I bet if you bred two species that shared that trait, you'd get a killer strain. It would be hard, though, to find a male showing that trait for selective genetics.. unless you took a female that did, and get it to produce some male flowers and use that to pollinate the second female of a different species. How stable would those seeds be if you used this process? I'd love to have some of those seeds.

My friend gave me the clones from the same batch he grew. Both of mine grew extra leafs and bud sites. None of his did. He grew w/top shelf "dirt" nutrients and I grew GH hydroponics. Both under similar lighting, ect. So I don't think every plant with that trait even shows somehow.
