Up Side Down .. !?

Had this lovely idea .. :confused:
What if we grow the plants upside down with all the watering equipment sealed well ..
In theory the Gravity force suppose to reduce plant`s energy used for growing and pushing upwards (stretching),
by pulling her down naturally .. and even might increase thc levels on main collas .. :twisted:bongsmilie

so what u think guys ?

I'm going to have to disagree with Closet face up there. Technically speaking it's a legitimate question. With gravity pulling all the fluids down already, the plant would have to work less to transport nutrients to the top. I can't say if it would really make a difference, but it is an interesting idea nonetheless.
 
put it in one of those upside down tomato things you see on tv. i put a plant in it early this week. you can buy them at wall mart
 
every grow ive seen with those upside down planters ends up with plants that just bend around and back up the side of the planter with no real benefit.

Couldnt you just put your light in the floor facing up and the plant hanging above it facing down?
 
Why is everyone so negative, this is a good thread! Every technique used today was at one point a risk or accident that was successful right? If I had the resources I would totally try it. Still it seems very unnatural.

im growing tomatoes right now in them and yes they are doing that but there is a grow journal about a guy using it with pot and it didnt seem to do that.

Growing any plant on purpose is unnatural.
 
Unless you're going to build a big centrifuge to create reverse gravity there is no way to keep the plant from growing Up.
 
Heck every time i see a new method of growing on tv such as the aerogarden and topsy turvy i wonder if its possible to use that to grow weed. why not try it and find out :) live and learn, its not stupid to be curious.
 
I know of someone actually growing a Jack the ripper in a tipsy topper. Its works great on tomatoes, and thus far cannabis. If basically forces itself back upright all while staying upside down. The leaves and everything just invert. Only problem this far has been container size and water run off burning some of the leaves. Other than that, he is pretty convinced it is going to flower once it comes time outdoors.

what I know about osmosis and how plants transport would make me think this would have no real difference on that. I think all you're really doing is low intensity stress, kinda like weighting down tops and stuff.
