upcoming storm power outage DWC

I am expecting a power outage. I have 2 girls ready to be harvested in about a week in soil which I am not too worried about but I have 4 in a DWC setup in the 4th week from seed. Should I just leave an extended light period to account for the expected power outage? 60 mph winds, enough to knock out power. I have a propane heater on stand by. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

ok thanks. I have a deep cycle battery and an invert er. hopefully that will work long enough. can I turn them on in intervals so no to drain the battery too low. I think I may get a few hours out of it. maybe I will go to harbor freight and buy their 100 700 watt generator. I have a large air, not an aquarium pump.hey thanks for the fast response. You the man! I am loving this DWC but didn't really account too much for this scenario. Hey would you mind helping me with some other questions that I have been trying to find answers to. I spent a good bit of cash to get to this point in my grow room design and cant afford to fail now. I grow just so I dont have to deal with shady people. Nothing gets sold. all personal use plus I supply my dad and one good friend. They will help with nutrient costs, bulb replacement and things like that. it ends up being a win win for all of us until something bad happens. If you can help out I will post my specs and a few pics. either way its all good. Thanks for the air pump tip! I would have thought more towards the lights.

I use Advanced nutrients PH perfect Micro Bloom Grow. They are good but expensive. I will definitely research their brand. I like a company that will tell you to use black strap molasses to feed beneficial bacteria rather than buying bud candy and using it half strength or carbo load which both are essentially forms of sugar. I just transplanted to 6" net pots last friday. the roots are just starting to pop through the hydroton and are very white. Hopefully a power outage doesn't cause any rot. I will try my hardest to aerate in some form or another. I would like to keep a product like that on hand though. I am thinking it may be good for clones too but I have to read more. I just skimmed over what you sent for the moment.

600 for 4 lights amd maybe another 300 between the fans and the air pump. I could leave it all running. It really might power it for longer cause Ivr only got 720 watts hooked to it now. Definitly would recomend it if you have a large grow and don't want to lose anything. When the batteries go bad 2 years down the road you can order a replacement I beleive also.

I actually have a small UPS. I just had an idea to take my deep cycle marine battery and attach it to my UPS provided its a 12 volt battery. Thanks again for the idea! it a decent size grow. I have 4 in veg 4 in flower 2 just came out and have 9 seedling ready to go in. I am going to start germinating them after this storm.

Nothing will be sweeter than to have a power outage in a big storm and walk up to my beautiful plants growing under bright light :)

lol at about 20:00 min they start talking about run times and amp hours. Thats all I was looking for as hooking up the automotive battery is self explanatory. Yea screw that I didnt watch but 2 min of it. Thanks for the idea though. I am modding mine with a deep cycle boat battery as we speak.

hey are you sure about your wattage or run time from your UPS? The reason I am asking is because with a 7 amp hr battery it will only last ten minutes. Thats what they come with stock. It takes 42 amp hrs to power for 1 hr. My automotive battery is roughly 105 amp hrs which will give me 2 and 1/2 hours. I would do some testing with times if I were you before you rely on them lasting longer than 15 min or so. It makes sense because a 700 watt inverter lasts for about 2 hours on the same battery I am installing in the UPS. All an UPS is is an automatic DC-AC power intverter.

Its my first time using AN and im bit confused. I grow under 800w, 2gallon soil SmartPots (i water almost daily). What is the total concentration of connoisseur bloom you would give to every plant all together in a week? If i give lets say for a middle age plant, 3ml/l in every watering there will be concetrated 15ml of A part nute every week+another 15ml for the B part. Aren't 30ml too much for every week? ..how can one plant consume 200ml of concentrated fertiliser in 6-7weeks life?

well I use AN Ph perfect 3 part still and I add 10 ml a day of each between 4 plants. the next day it always seems to drop by the same rate so at just 90 days that 900ml alone. I dont know much about that line but I would think thats fine. actuall light compared to what i feed, 30ml per day. I'm @ week 6 from seed
