well after a long break of not growing.. ive decided to start it up again... well this time i wanna switch to led.... i currently got a 600w hps.. i use a 3x3 tent.. so looking for a led panel that can subside to the hps.. it will be less heat, less venting, and just less hassle.. i was looking at the mars 2 900w led.. now what im unsure of is if i can use one panel for veg and flowering? or two different panels? i got about 1k to spend but i need a new carbon filter, soil, perlite etc.. so cheap as possible is better.

if i dont go led.. i want ways i can improve my grow using the 600w hps.. i currently use cooltube so a better reflector will work and i need to find a way to regulate temps.. in my area during winter it snows.. during summer it can get pretty hot aswell.. so during summer ac is fine.. during winter i cant use ac and normally use a fan to bring air from outside in.. but then you got stuff in the windows which makes it quite obvious something going on.. (in my opinion) im thinking of blockbuster 6 reflector.. another thing when my fan is on controller it makes a vibration noise.. of course im using a cheap ass hydrofarm 6 inch inline fan.. any ideas? just looking to upgrade in general and get best bang for buck.. i need new bulbs and stuff so keep that in mind.. thinking of buying another 3x3 tent (or even smaller) and a decent tv to veg in to help save electricity.. then i got somewhere to put my clones at.. ideas??

I'm not being a buzzkill here but really do your homework checking this out and better yet find a grower (s) who can provide proof positive pics that demonstrate results before you drop your dime. I started with led and got plants with buds but just couldn't get penetration when they got bigger, akin to a cfl sort of. But your spending twice what I did and it was a year ago so your results will probably vary as they are ramping up the r&d with these because they want to compete with the gold standard. I ended up with 2-600 hids and used the extra money on a/c & heat extraction. Ps don't get a panel with cooling fans

I dont know anyone in real life that grows to my knowledge. i keep it to myself so no one knows i do either.. i know there are led out there that are quality and do provide good penetration. im just thinking about it, not making any decisions as of yet. either way.. thanks for advice..

If you are only using a 3x3 tent, why are you using a 600 watt light? I have a 3x4 box and get massive buds with a 400 watt. I suggest to go down to a 400, save on power and it wont throw off as much heat.

Go to led section and read.some of supra a stuff as well as many other great people. You could build a cob setup kinda pricey at moment but we'll worth it for the long run. if you ask questions they will answer and help with what you need

i use a 600w because its best lumens per watt.. i do got a 400w too.. i orginally started with 400w and now i use 600w. heat isnt a issue its the cost of electricity for all the fans and ac required to keep it cool. i was just trying to keep from having to have the headache of taking the ac out of the window during winter and putting the inline fan in the window to bring the cool air in.. i may just buy a blockbuster hood and keep doing 600w.. though i would rather use something that doesnt throw off as much heat, wont require me to use a ac.. and only requires me to vent outside, no light bulb changes and less electricity period.. and this will give me a thought about perpetual grow setup...

U know they make window units with a/c and heat. That would solve it and give you control of both seasons
