I finally have enough money to get the hid lighting I want....I've been running t5s for several harvest now...but my question is I have a 4x2x6 ft tent...I run 3-4 plants....will a 400w be sufficientlighting to cover 4 plants? Because where I live having to much wattage scares me a bit, we have legalization on our ballot this year (if it passes I could careless, I'll prolly get 1000w, and build a room but I have to wait till Nov to see that!) Or would I have to get a 600w for 3-4 plants?

A 400w would do it but the 600w would obviously be better, in a tent like that though your main issue would prob be heat so only buy one you could control the temp output

Yea, that's actually my problem in the summer is the heat....so I'll probably just run this during winter and spring and not grow indoors next summer....but I know my fan is strong enough because I bought what I needed before hand so I wouldn't have to buy another fan...I'm in no need for a scrubber so my cfm will stay....the lighting is the last real upgrade I need to make and I'll be solid....but I also have been looking it CMH have any of you have experience with these? I've seen a 325w phillips (I believe that was the wattage)

Yea you want the temp to be from 72-80 max, and I was just researching cmhs yesterday it said they're just a type of mh bulb that has a better fuller spectrum, the closest to the sun, I don't have any experience with then though

Yea, with my t5s and like dead middle of summer, with my ac and everything the highest it would get is 81...if anything I can move my tent downstairs where it is more cool, so I think I should be ok.....

But someone I'm subscribed on YT is doing a rough competition with 325 w ĺed vs 325 cmh vs a gavita turned down ....and the cmh is so white it's absolutely ridiculous...

If you would like to see what I'm talking about his name is John Berfelo...it's a couple videos into his recent uploads

What is your budget? Gavita 1000 DE would be a good one because it's adjustable from 600-1150 watts. Medium adjust a wings are supposed to be good in terms of efficiency/heat.

A 400 watt lamp will produce up to 350gs
A 600 watter will produce up to 660gs

600 watt HIDS are more efficient than 400/1000 watt lamps.
