I got an idea. I came up with at home Depot. Take one of thoe foil pans they have a tthe grocery.. A deep one. cut 3 holes in it. One slide ur bulb in. Seal it. The other 2 are vent holes. Then go to hd or other hardware store. They sell panes of glass for dirt cheap this very size. Glue or fasten it onto the foil, u can fig that part out on your own. Ther u go, an air cooled reflector hood!

I made my hood... cost me a total of around $25, got some sheet alluminum from the local hardware store *ran me $5 a linear foot @ 3' wide* and then I just got some small 18 gage steel.... add in a few pop rivets and vola you gots yourself a hood ;)

you can see my DIY air intake on the front of my box, I've used some of the off cut aluminum to create a chamber inside so the light is diffused around a could of 90 degree corners ;) Give me a dub and a problem.... I'll come up with some kinda fix ;)

I also just hooked up some new pully's :D:D it's hella easy to move my hood up and down now.... before it was such a BITCH!

thats for hps? i need something for the bulb to screw into, and the plugs and shit

I was reading about a DIY power bar ballast kinda thing.... you get like a 6 pluggin power bar... they have these light fixtures that take a single light that plug right into the wall... get 6 of those puppies, then they have light splitters that go from 1 light fixture to 2, get 6 of those babies and you can have 12 lights on 1 power bar... get it with a long cord and you can move it up and down ;) you could even make a hood like mine and mount it to reflect all your light down..... just a thought... DIY and it is pretty cheap from what I hear....

I get a deal at the Electrical Warehouse ;) I gets all my lights ubber cheap.... This upgrade is only costing me $80 including taxs for the bulb, ballast and fixtures.... the wire and the connectors were free Wooty woo
