what up nerds, nugs here........nice title, huh? geez.

.......hope everyone had a wonderful 420, as i and my family did.......sorry to hear of your bro Slikrik, Sub...RIP.......

.......thought i would share my small modular outdo scene with you all....."modular" meaning, movable smart pots, and a combination of open air, and greenhouse....depending on the weather conditions.....i stopped digging holes a few years ago.....in my mind, you are chaining your plants down, forcing them to deal with everything mother earth has to throw at them for the entire season, thus increasing the chance of things going south.....here in michigan, we have a short summer with strong storms, stretches of cloudy days, high humidity, funguses, molds, a plethera of bugs and critters, deer, bear....you name it, we got it.......so through the years, i have come up with this simple set-up to help eliminate many of the problems associated with living up here....

......so i have "un-chained" my girls, and gave them a temperary shelter from the intense conditions.......

......here are the particulars...

super soil
20 gallon smarties, with custom handles, wrapped in burlap (heat, water retention etc.)
bamboo for any needed support
k.i.s.s....to the 9th degree.
"main-lining" everything

possible strains....will be running 8 plants, to stay within my guidelines

from clone....

qrazytrain
the flav (maybe)
vortex (maybe)
ace of spades
d-train (white domina x qrazytrain)
soultrain (wappa x qrazytrain)
wappa

from bean...

cheesequake
space dawg

all plants will be started late, main-lined, force flowered, kept small, have an average of 16 heads, and the yield goal is 10 zips each, no larf........the only other things i will use are neem oil, serenade, and sucanat. ....so without further a-do.....

hope to have all you nerds along for the ride.......peace and love, nugs

Oh ya, you said your growing 8 plants to stay legal with your plant count. But you have 9 strains listed?

only 8 will be chosen..........the elite eight.....i only run what has already been a proven winner in the sun.....have not tested vortex, flav, cq, or space dawg yet.....so we will see.

hey nugs, i will be watching this one my friend. i am a michigan boy myself. icurrently gro mostly subcool gear indoors (in supersoil under 600's). my current living situation prevents me from doing anything outdoors (i live in a very populated meto detroit neighborhood that is not friendly to growers) but i hope to have a new home purchased in time for next years growing season. i look forward to seeing how to get it done in this wonderful state we have here! soon i will have toss up a few pics of my basement jungle ;-)

Vortex does great in the sun, at least out here in the bay area.

Ive been waiting patiently for this thread, super excited to see how Nugbuckets does it outdoors.

This is awesome, I'll be here the whole way watching.

Good luck to you bro

the only thing i worry about the vortex, is its delicate structure.......for outdo, i want freakin' tractors for plants!.........4WD's....

that is why my outdoor gear has so much qrazytrain influence......excelent, strong stature.

be prepared for frequent irrigation! with 20 gallon pots they will be rootbound and out of juice in no time. i did 20 gallon pots a few years ago (started in june). and during peak heat, full of flowers i was watering 4 gallons each, daily. good luck with your temper-mental climate.
