Urgent Question *!*

I'm switching a skunk #1 and a Buddha Tahoe OG from flourescent to 600W HPS flower. I'm currently letting the light be on for about 20 hours to start 12/12 at the timeframe that I want, is this okay or is 20 hours of a different stronger light too much on 2 week old veggies?

20 hours is fine some people grow 24 hours untill 12/12, i normally put them in 18/6 after seedling stage, make sure not to have the hps too close to the plants cause it will burn quicker than flourescents

I do 24 under flourescent, what i'm asking is 20 too much for 2 week old veggies who have never been under a 600w light before too much? I topped and LST'd one as well..

There is no problem as long as your temps are not too high and theres good airflow, its safer to have your hps bulb further away for the first while so you can lower it as you feel the need to rather than have it too close and burn them

i agree...it's not about time at that stage...it's about intensity. i run all veg at 24/0 and when i move my girls at 2-3 weeks to the 1000w mh i just keep it about a 12-18" higher than i want it and move it down over the course of the first week. this gives them a chance to harden off to the more intense light.

I think you should be okay putting the plants under the new 600watt on 20 on 4 off schedule. I'd suggest you start with the light up high then slowly start to move it down to where you can without burning the tops of em & just keep a close on on them the first day or so. Other then that remember to water and what not and I think you should be okay.

i have a similar question about "hardening off" someone mentioned this to me before but didnt think it would happen, i put 8 autogrowers in my window sil when its a nice sunny day for a few hours till the sun passes then i throw them back under my 45 watt LED panel where this all started. 2 of these 8 i put i assume are light shocked or whatever cuz they were all just perfectly fine, doing good in the sun in the window sil too and then now 2 of them are shrivlled up where the new leaves are coming in
