fdd, good point on the whole 14th amendment and anchor babies subject. I heard Rand Paul the other day talking about how he wanted to amend the constitution to get rid of that...funny how a constitutionalist like him hates people trampling all over the document, then tries to trample all over the document. i don't see the 14th amendment changing, but it will be interesting to see the inevitable debate
and stewie, congrats on living near the border. you should know about all the factories that relocated there thanks to nafta, leaving americans out of work, then shut down and moved to asia (where human rights standards are even lower yet), leaving mexicans out of work. also, you seem to have completely skipped over the 2-3 million farmers out of work because their $100 subsidy can't compete with the $20,000 subsidy the us farmer gets. the few remaining get about a third for their crop as pre-nafta. yet you call this better than ever? weird, man

I Agree. I do roofing for a living, The business isnt what it used to be, even with the decline in the housing market. Theres 10+ roofing companies around my local area, ive applied for a job at each one, declined at all. 9/10 use illegals.
i think we should bomb illegals with gang bangers. go into the hood and tell them all they won a free TV. load them in trucks and fly bombing missions along the border. smoking stolen cigarettes along the way.

I used to steal liquor and steaks, lived for a whole summer that way when I was younger. Oh yeah and cd's from circuit city my friends and I might have put them out of business lol. Shit you walk in , in the middle of summer with a coat on and take 20 cd's then we'd sell em to the used cd store. Never once stole from an individual though and I have no regrets about any of it.

And if you could out roof them maybe they fire one of the other illegal immigrants and gave you their wages if you could get the same amount of work done better?

i think your views are off, since many mexicans come here to work so their families don't starve. i don't see how that qualifies them as 'fucking their families' or 'animals with no morals'.
and shouldn't the ones with no morals be the employers who shit on their own country in their greed for the dollar by hiring illegals?

I disagree with that. We are all the human race, but I think I knew what you meant - some nationalities of people just can't. It is the economic situation of whatever people involved. We're all capable of exactly the same things. I just looked through this book I have for the quote, but I couldn't find it. I'll post again later.

i went looking for a reason why they couldn't, and was surprised with a few of the things I learned.
one interesting thing i learned was that half a million or so americans are illegal immigrants in mexico, accounting for about 85% of mexico's illegal population (irony, anyone?).
another thing i learned that surprised me was that mexico's economy is #11 in the world...it made me think of how shitty it must be to live in so many other places and how lucky/complacent us americans are. that someone called on this thread themselves 'dirt poor' while using a computer and the world wide web...fucked up. the real eye-opening prediction was that by 2050, the top 5 economies will be china, india, the us, some other country, and mexico.
one thing i researched that jives with what i've been saying is that income equality is rampant in mexico, as well as huge gaps between rural and urban mexico. while nafta may have not decimated all of mexico, it certainly has devastated rural farmers by the millions. this is especially ironic when considering that the only thing that saved selectively-bred and genetically modified american crops from mass disease were mexican counterparts. if you enjoy eating corn or bananas, thank mexicans,

They have only had a collective government since 1917 that was their revolution.
So they are only 93 years into their country. For us that is 1869 and we were just getting out of our civil war and got our first railroad. We had huge population of poor dirt farmers and small number of incredibly rich, we had boom and bust economies, ect. And it wasn't until the 1900's that we started to dominate the economy of the world.
Sure they have the benefit of us already blazing the trail, and all the tech advantages that come with it, but people need generations to figure shit out, then generations to forget why it needed to be done that way, and the cycle continues.
