USB Lighters. Has anyone tried doing this? :D

I really want to try this but i'm all out of anything cannabis related (getting some next week). I thought i'd share my weird ideas you all, though. A USB lighter works by heating coils, making them red hot and can be charged with your computer through a USB port (duh!). They are really cheap (like $5-$10 bucks) and really easy to find online or at a shop that sells smoking goods.

I was thinking that this could be a really cheap alternative to a pen vaporizer (which can set you back $100+) or even as a really simple alternative to hot knives smoking. Just drop a little ball of hash or a piece of wax on top of the hot coil and inhale the vapor. You don't even need a tube/straw, just put your mouth above the hole and inhale.

What do you all think? :D

Theyre not bad but ive tried using them for that exact thing and it doesnt work well. The first few times works but the coil is very close to the bottom and everything gets all sticky after 1 or 2 tries and really stops being effecient. Plus the coil is thin so messing with it or cleaning it can cause it to break.

They do work well for lighting blunts though. I originally bought one on ebay but they have that same one in the picture at walmarts for like 6 bucks. Really helps if your area is windy or youre out in windy areas alot. haha.

I would say that would work. I would like to see a screen above it. "just my pref" I would also say you would need a straw.

Works as well as a pen vape.... which is to say it will burn your wax, sure. And you can suck the smoke from the port with a straw. But I should note that the wax pen vapes are just direct drip ecigs with a thousand percent markup. A five dollar direct drip ecig works as well as the rebranded hundred dollar vape pens, which is to say great if you don't mind smoke. The prob with the lighter is the plastic housing ariind the coil will outgass with heat and isn't meant to be powered on repeatedly, only to catch a spark onto a cig. Google "direct drip 510" to find a million cheap wax burning ecig pens for around five to ten bucks.

Hmm earlier I was googling the difference between an ecig and a vape pen and found nothing. They do look exactly like an ecig. I will get an ecig and I will try vaping some hash oil when I get some. :D

i have a micro g pen for wax. My wife uses a ego pen for vaping " nicotine " i wondered if I could use her pen to smoke bho. I guess here is my answer. I would just have to buy the glass globe. My question is, Do you drip right on the coil? or do you buy the one with a screen and just put it on there?

It depends on the battery fittings and the current it outputs. some concentrate smoking attachments run at higher volts so you smoke them more than vaping them.

As for how you load it we have the ceramic dish one. Looks like a nail on an oil rig but with a coil runnin through it. so you just fill it with wax/shatter/kief/ice wax. Anything you can put in it will smoke.
