found 1000hps. at greners.com is this a good brand? i always they were comparable to eye hortilux in quality they have them at the same price of solarmax
Yea theyre good and they actually work better in dimmable ballast than horts. Solarmax is also really good for max weight in flowering but doesnt contain as much blue so wouldnt veg under it and some may say a lil more blue increases thc. All these differences wont be that noticeable between bulbs to be honest but thats your call.
yeah theyre like $74.00 & are blue enhanced spectrum i was thinking they might have a longer lifespan than the cheaper ones im upgrading from a 600w. to a 1000w. ballast & have to purchase one anyway im currently using an ultra sun [cheapie] & it has worked good for me but for about the same price getting a name brand might be the way to go in the long run
Yea I run 600. I would go for a cheaper bulb with the most lumens like THIS that way you can spend your money on a new bulb every year instead of getting the most expensive bulb and running it tell its only going at 80%. I havnt seen any specific data that shows the expensive bulbs produce better bud, just speculation. I know the spectrally enhanced bulbs are better for veg through bloom use. The hybrid bulbs are also good for this and awesome if you want super developed dense nugs but you wont get the yield you would with straight HPS.
I just bought one because of the lumenen output of 150000 as oppose to the 130000 GE lamp I was using!
Check out my buds with this bulb only 4 weeks old flowered from clone they have 6 weeks to go and already look tasty with colors starting!
I was really interested in their dual element bulb, 1000w with metal halide and HPS elements in one bulb, 174$ for a bulb with only 9600 hrs lifetime it is a little pricey. If you were using the dual element bulb I think it would be a good transition from veg to bloom, instead of going from metal halide to HPS
