Using 15kg cannister for BHO?

Hi all, Im new here to the forums but consider myself an old school veteran smoker. In the past year or so I have been making honey oil. Started out like a caveman, and slowly getting better equipment over time. like stainless steele pipes, stand for holding it etc. . . Now I have decided to try and save money on butane by obtaining a 15 kg can of calor butane. Does anyone know if this will work just the same as lighter refills? I guess it does, would just like a better educated opinion. Is it cleaner? Is it the same basic chemical? Will it be worth it? Any input is more than welcome. Hope to become a regular here. Toke on :bigjoint:

I used butane for my oil for years, decided to give isotopyl (alcohol) a go. A piece of piss, easier to do and smoother smoke, less harsh. Try it mate it's simple. £17 for 5 litres, add a few pound of low grade popcorn and sweet leaf...... 15-25mls of sweet clean oil. Another tip, draw your oil up into 5ml syringe barrels when hot and thin. Makes for easy storage and easy dispensing when ya smokin it. If your oil goes too thick to push out of the syringe, just hold in ya hand for a few mins to warm it up. The only equipment you need is a large sealable jar and an electric slow cooker to burn of the alcohol. Good luck.

In answer to your question, I would steer clear of the big / bbq style barrels of gas, not likely to be high grade or pure enough, will prob make some dirty oil. If you do try it,let us know how you got on.

Thanks for the speedy reply man. Not too sure on trying it now but if I do, I'll be sure to report back on it. Might give the alcohol a go, how potent is it in relation to bho? Is it darker, can it be made into shatter or wax like bho can? Small cans of butane seem to be costing me a fortune, so thought it was about time I addressed the issue somehow. . stay high :)
