Using a portable aircon as a dehumidifier

So I have a port aircon and wanna use it to dehumidifie my grow tent
Now the room is perfect temp so I don't wanna cool it or heat it I was just thinkin of puttin in the unit and turning it on dehumidifie and not venting it out of the room would this
Still drop the humidity

It will lower the humidity but also heat up the tent, no doubt pretty fast.

Iam not puttin the aircon in the tent in the room the tents in

yes it will lower the humidity I have tried this before, regarding the heat, if the portable unit comes with a duct make sure to vent it outside. Best to get a good hygrometer and test various fan speeds and temperature and record the humidity and temperature levels. good luck
