i just put a few flowering plants in a diff space without a fan under a 125w cfl, hoping they will be ok, the cfls dont get too hot, needed the space on 18hrs for more veg plants and my autos, has any1 used a cfl b4 without a fan?

as long as their is some type of air exchange you should be fine. i would just keep an close eye out for mold.

its not the heat you need to worry about its mold. Once the buds get big they retain a lot of moisture in the center stems inside them. With stagnant air your asking for trouble. You could destroy your bud. plus the air in the room needs to change fully every 5 minutes for the plants to breathe properly. Not too hard to do. A tiny desktop fan can handle a small closet sized space.

Depending on how your box is setup you can install PC fans to cool down the lights...

This is my new section Ive started in my area, I still need to foil/paint the insides, but I wanted to show you how it can be done. In there are 4x23W CFLs (2x6500K, 1x3500K, 1x2700K) and the two fans keep em cool enough to have the fan leaves touching them and also have enough CFM to move the air in there quite nicely, stirring the leaves and..

@Dobby, yes they do help strengthen the stem as the fans are causing the stem to stretch back and forth essentially, opening the more room for growth.

Plenty of guides on how to do it, but simply enough, phone charge with wires exposed on the ends, capped with the wires of the PC fans (You can pretty much run as many fans as you want, they are such low-voltage, I currently have these running with 3 other fans on another box). I leave the fans running 24/7, even with lights off, which is encouraging more night growth for the ladies. Also, if you notice on my pics, my fans have Blue LEDs on them, this enables me to check on the ladies in at night without affecting their lighting schedule!

ive grown with cfls without a fan. i had one up until right before flowering and it burned out. i didnt have any mold issues but i had gnat issues. its just a real good idea to have new air being blown around.
