we,ve recently has an electric metre installed and was wondering if it was a safer way to run a grow and if the electric company would pay less attention to you, since you get no electric bill and everything is paid up front.......

would like some opinions and thoughts on this, espeacially anyone that works in the industry, many thanks in advance:peace:

no, we have a metre which is operated by a card, the card is credited at the post office and then placed into a slot on the metre, hence we get no quaterly electric bill, which was the actual intention, this is in uk

You need to articulate what your question is. Are you looking for a way around the meter (don't do it)? If you have a small grow op I wouldn't worry about attention.

The electric company will be able to tell that you are using more.
but that should not be a problem.

Grow.

thanx, my question is not very clear, i realise that. i was wondering if they would spend less attention to someone who was on a metre as opposed to someone that gets billed ?:peace:

In all honesty i'm not an electrician, nor do i work for an electric company.

I'm sure they won't notice a small increase in your electrical usage..
But then again, what do i know?

People's use of electricity fluctuates, so i doubt they'll come knocking.

They will pay as much attention. Which is most probably none at all. They are in the business of selling power. Your operation requires the procurement of large amounts of power. Thats a match made in heaven. PG and E in California doesn't report abnormal usage to authorities if you make it a habit to pay them every once in a while. However stealing power or not paying is entering a danger zone. Friends soon become mortal enemies and their best customer walks away in cuffs. Think of yourself as VIP. I personally use 40 times the energy of an average house in my neighborhood. 10% of my net pays the energy bill. So I think your probably safe.
