Using liquid fence

I've been researching liquid fence lately to find that the smell is almost unbearable and the directions state to apply directly and around plant. Does anyone have first hand success with just applying around the plant? Obviously I'm not gonna be a fool and apply this shit directly lol.

i used it last year with great success...just applied it around my plot 3times thru out the season and they didnt get ate by anything.. the area was full of rabbits and deer also..

Sounds fair enough. Does this stuff come as a concentrate to be mixed with water or is it a liquid ready to be used?

There is also a concentrate. 1 gallon of concentrate makes 16 gallons. At a little over a hundred dollars (EBay), it's beyond a deal considering the pints retail for twenty dollars.

I also bought a 10 dollar 1 gallon sprayer and my loss to wildlife has been 0% the last 2 seasons.
