using mesh for small grow

Its been done before, theres a certain name for the method but i cant remember what it was called. plain and simple thought, plants grow towards the light, wherever the lights are. screen with 2cm holes im guessing the plant could grow through that, its amazing what they can do. If you used a small mesh screen the plant would reach to the top then grow out.
I remember reading somewheres that the method was getting a bunch of female clones putting them in a box grow close together, then putting screen above them at like 2 feet maybe. The plants would grow to the top of screen, then spread out, eventually at harvest the plants would fill the box with lots of bud. hope that helps.

cheers man thats really helpful. i think im going to start that . however. basically my grow box is barely 40 cm hight but 50cm long. if i put the mesh say.. 20cm above the plant(the are only 2 weeks old). would the plants grow outawrds and grow tho th mesh but then stop and grow new nodes? btw my seedlings are about 1.5" tall now. shud i be starting to flower now due to such a small grow room? also im not interested in yeilds and my grow room cannot be any bigger as it is a stealth grow under my bed!

You are talking about the SCROG approach. Screen of Green. I wont go into it too much as its all in the faq:

Iam doing something similar to this guys setup:

I did a flat scrog. One plant with 2 sqft of space. It wasnt even the healthiest plant or a big yeilder. It gave me almost 3oz dry. SCROG Works great in small spaces but could be a big pain in the bug on larger grows.
