Well, I know I saw a thread about this at one point but cannot find any info now? Is it ok to use Ph up from a pet store on plants?

I've used ph. down designed for aquariums. I just dilute it into water and check the ph. Have had no problems as of yet.

Thanks! That is what i wanted to hear! I'm not due for another trip to the grow store for at least a month, long drive there and back. This will save me that drive! Thank You!

I've heard of vinegar being used but I still think the ph. up for aquariums is better cos it's designed not to fuck with the biosystem. I'm not sure someone if would pour vinegar into their fish tank.

I have a pH tester and a EC/TDS tester as well, I think I will stick with pH Up for now. Without knowing how much vinegar to use or weather it really works, I don't think I will be using it.

Vinegar will bring your PH down, so scratch that idea. Baking soda will work in an emergency, but I don't recommend using it all the time because it's loaded with salts, and you'll need to flush periodically to avoid problems. I've been using PH UP(API brand) for aquariums, and it works great. I ordered some Technoflora PH up, made for growing, and plan to switch to that as soon as it arrives. But, if you want to use the aquarium stuff, it will do the job without any problems. I chose to go with Technoflora, because I'm a perfectionist. (also, they use a different chemical to adjust the PH, which is aimed towards better plant growth)

Just make sure it doesn't contain any phosphates. API is a common brand, so pick that up if they have it, and you'll be good to go. :)

i use vinegar, works for me, get a tester though
Vinegar is an acid. That would fuck my plants up even more. Do you know how much time and effort some of us put into this? We don't need some dumb-f#ck giving half-ass pointers. Try doing some research and maybe have a few grows under your belt before giving out advice!

Anyone Know anything about raising soil pH with lime? The directions on the bag say to use a tablespoon of lime for every gallon of water. Do i need to flush before adding the lime?
