Using Trash bags because there is no more bigger pot?

Hey guys,

So I have two Hindu Kushs growing on my balcony in Germany.
They have become very big and the last time I repotted them was two weeks ago thinking that it would be the last repot.

When I realized they stunted in growth and flower I checked and saw that they urgently need to be repotted again.
The current pot holds 29 Liters and there is only one bigger pot in the local store.

What can I do? Is trash bags an option? Because if I get the biggest pot and in two weeks they have to be repotted then its a waste of money and the repot in such a huge plant could damage them i some kind

You only need to repot them if you want them to grow bigger. It is not necessary for flowering. I use 3 gallon fabric pots- the plants can grow to around 7’

Even if the soil has developed complete root growth and looks like it could need to have some space?

Yes- repot only if you want them to grow bigger. Using pot size to control root mass will determine the size of the plant. I have had 3’ plants in a solo cup-

All of above agree, with the caveat that if you don’t repot, you are going to have to feed/water daily, possibly multiple times per day. If you aren’t able to keep up with that you will need to up pot.

Have you had experience with repotting during flowering stage? Watering every day wouldnt be so much of a problem, I just dont use any fertilizer I used to have Humus mixed in the soil and it was perfect.

I just ask myself why those pistils have not developed into a bud structure, they have been hanging around for more than two weeks now.

Like Bud Man said, really depends on your goal. Bigger pot = bigger plant = generally easier to grow.

I think the point was, if you *can’t* find a bigger pot, it doesn’t mean you are screwed, you just have a lot more daily maintenance ahead of you.

To your original question - anything that will hold your medium will work fine. A trash bag would be difficult but I’m not gonna say impossible. Whatever you improvise, just make sure you have good drainage.

One more - transplanting in flower is far from ideal, but you gotta do what you gotta do. And learn from it and plan better next time, it’s how we improve. Good luck.

No feed + exhausted medium. 2 weeks of flower I wouldn’t expect much , but you need to feed, either via liquid nutes or new fortified “soil”.
