Using UV-C for sanitation?

I have a question for the experts.

Does anyone use UV-C bulbs to help sterilize their enviroment? I recently lost a batch of black krim (tomato) seedlings to a combination of mushrooms and mold. I've been looking around for non-destructive ways to combat the issue and I stummbled using UV-C lights.

Since I grow indoors in tents, I figured this would be an easy setup. Grab a 4' flourescent tube fixture, T5 or T8 depending on avalability. Hang them in the center of the room, outside of the tent of course. Since UV-C is dangerous to life and things in general, I figured I would wire it up to one of those timer switches you see in bathrooms and mount it outside of the room the tent is in. This would help limit the chances of getting accidentally exposed. A low power warning light wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hit the timer, wait till it goes off again, go in, do my daily tasks, close the door, hit the timer for an hour or so. Maybe rig up a warning light as well. Keep in mind, this would be lighting the room around the tent, not in the tent. The plant would have no exposure.

What do you guy's think? Would this help in addition too getting my temps/humidity dialed in?

Also, does anyone know where someone can buy Arcadia UV-C T5 bulbs in the states?
