Uvb Reptile Lights....what Do You Think???

I was reading a bit about this and seen some info that makes pretty good sense.......hps lights dont give off much uvb especially when theres a protective glass infront of the bulb because glass filters uvb light.....now from what i have been reading uvb light is very high in red light spectrum.....red light spectrum is what produces the plant to make thc....thats why if you look at a map of the world that shows the light spectrums, where its red is where the bombest most potent pot grow naturally and why if we grow in north america outdoors its not that good usually because of how much red light uvb spectrum we get....well i was that in the flowering stages if you use a reptile uvb light like a 10.0 or something it will help the plant produce mass amouts of thc.....i searched more about it and coulnt find too much but a few articles on other sites...one of them stating that they took a clone of some strain that was already high in thc and already came out amazing and grew it with uvb and it was amazingly like 10 grades higher and they noticed changes when it was growing within 4 days of using the uvb lights....somthing about the trichombs oozing with thcbecause of the high concentration on uvb light.........what do you guys think....has anyone tried this...it seems like it makes tons of sense maybe not the way i explained it...lol...im sorrry about that its like 5 am......please lets discuss this...!!!

there has been alot of posts lately about this, isay if your going to get one get the flourecent tube not the spot lamp, spot lamps are very hot. I use on in my flower room with no bad side effects but it is only 20w, i wouldnt be able to say if it increases thc production though because there is no control plant

I used the reptile lighting for like a week when I was waiting for my new ballast to come and it made my plants do all kind of crazy things like stretch a lot all the leaves started to flip over and the they looked very limp, at least when compared to normal. All plants returned to normal within a week of putting my MH back in there. so i would just stick to the HID if I was you.

thats because i do not believe you use uvb for substitution of mh for veg state, its used during flowering at some paoint during the 12 hours to increase thc.....i have heard many good things about this and read the huge thread on here....well most of it...never really got n e straight answers....what kind of lights are best....how much area do they cover....and how long do you leave them on for and what times are usually best? if someone can explain this in some sort of simple form as i am a newbie and am trying to learn from the best!!!

its to be used as additional lighting...it cause the trichombs to ooze with resin resulting in high amounts of thc because it emits more red spectrum light which the hps bulbs lack...im just not sure how to proportion it....doesent seem to very enpensive either

to my knowledge hps dont put out UVB you do either have to have a MH or reptile light. you dont get UVB out of the red spectrum only out of blue because the UVB wavelength is in the ultravilot spectrum which close to the blue. the red spectrum is on the far end close to IR (if im wrong, one of the more tech savy people please correct me)

if you are going UVB i would go with a MH light. some people have tried the reptile lights before, in fact someone is trying it right now on this site (i dont remember what post it is but search it), but most people dont get much out of it because a MH is HID so it will be stronger.

the theory is that UVB causes the plant to react by producing more resin and thc in order to try and protect itself for the damage produced by the UVB, hence higher THC content.

you dont have to use it just in flower, alot of people use them in veg also
