Ok thanks, Ive only had a vac purge for a short time so this batch was my third time using it and each time I ended up with a honeycomb cookie. I wanna try and make shatter and was wondering should it wax up first then turn into shatter? Or should it just turn into shatter? With constant low temps

Shatter, ahhhhh she is an elusive lady eh?
The first 2 suggestions
should produce a hard brittle resin.
*Use fresh material, 5-10 ,,,days from clipping. Do not over use your vac when making shatter. Throwing the oil in the chamber and applying a full continuous vac,in the early stages of the purge is a form a agitation, and will most always begin to nucleate(wax)about 1.5 hours into the process.
Instead...
Put your scraped oil onto parchment using a putty knife, thin film is very important.
Place oil into your cold chamber, then turn on the heat. Pull muffins and let them fall, repeat until reaction slows.
My shatter runs have a minimum 36 hour purge time.
But I use very low temps 90*
And I just use my chamber as an oven, not much vaccing at all.
I do use it a lot at the end of the purge.
After the 36 hour low heat purge, it's time to remove the last bit of solvent and/or moisture out.
Turn up your temps to 117, once your oil has reached 117, pull vac for 20 minutes, let cool and flip the patty, when you flip; try to "stretch" the oil thinner, increasing the surface area, turn temps to 122 and vac for 15 more minutes, you should see bubbles popping RAPIDLY.
Turn off the pump, and release the vac,
Let your oil "rest" for 15minutes..
Or you can winterize. Super super smooth vapor. Yeeeaaah.
Edit: shatter stage first, then wax, comb later, if you get wax before shatter, something went wrong along the way
