Vacationing to bay area

I'm taking a vacation to san diego/la this weekend, and since I'm not a cali resident I don't have an mmj card, is residency required to obtain one? I would love to get my hands on some good medical buds and a few good qualitry edibles, but I don't think the locals would appreciate me asking them to buy me pot like a kid getting beer. I guess I'm just looking for some insight on how to either get my mmj card quick as hell, or get some herb so the trip will be a complete success, any response is appreciated.

Sure you can do it. All you have to do is vacation there for two or more years to obtain residency, get a doctor, and have him assure, by signature, to the state of California that you have a medical disorder or chronic pain in which you must have marijuana prescribed to you.

to the dmv give them an address say it is mine and give them my current address as a mailing address, guess 2 years is a long time to wait though.

San diego/la is not the bay area. That point aside, you could always shoulder tap outside of a club. Or, just give an address of a house that you see and get a fake id. So long as your id says you're from cali they don't actually check out the residency.
