Value in chasing the buzz of kali mist or similar genetics?

kali mist? the ORIGINAL was delicious if you love spicy foods. it tasted like you were smoking italian crushed red pepper and could even burn your lips. the new version has been toned down to sweet and spicy but still has the same buzz comparing notes with a 2.0 grower. if you've ever tried shrooms and gotten that warm happy at peace with the uiniverse effect, kali mist is a lot like that with a couple hits of speed... very very racy... happy and racy... the kinda shit speedy mcfeely was probably blazing on mr rogers. LOL it's very clearheaded too. it's not a favorite strain though unless you have something more mellow to balance against it because it is freakin' tweaker weed! you can't sit still on it, literally. i wanted to vedge out on tunes on it with the same trippy sense heightening effect i used to get from gold, but it just wasn't there. for work or sports though, KM would rule! it keeps the mind racing too with your body just trying to keep up. i would never turn it down and still have 1 bean of 2.0 i'm saving for a rainy day, but it's too 1 dimensional for everday use. it also takes 17 weeks plus to flower. C99 is very similar, though mellower, and takes no more than 55 days with some versions even being trippy to stony. i'd go with C99 before KM just for the productivity as well as mellower, though still motivational buzz.

8 miles high is my idea of what a TRUE mid is. i love it! it isn't racy, but doesn't have a drop of stone either. it's a very "clean" buzz in that regard like there's a hole in the buzz where some strains can be racy and stony in waves. i thought that was a very classy effect that lets you focus more on the playful euphoria. i was soooooo effing happy the 1st time i blazed it, it was the first true psychoactive high i'd had at my own hands and much funner than clearheaded C99. it loves music and dancing, and i loved the precise body control effect too. i literally felt like a mechanical robot dancing the robot on it in an "i didn't know i had it in me" way. you can chill on it too though if you want, as long as you're doing something fun... it's like a hot date whispering in your ear "i'm bored, let's do something fun now!". unlike kali mist, it goes with whatever 24/7. it's not the trippiest or most potent strain, but it's better than most generic hazes and for a push all of your buttons right mellow high, it's perfect for what it does. haze x skunk is more potent and trippy maybe, but the downside of that is paranoia and even worse, room spinning dizzies if you overdo it. 8MH just does everything right and nothing wrong, kind of like a japanese car... no flash, just solid performance.

i like sweet haze better though. it has a little bit more psychoactivity and a delicious fruity flavor that sets it apart from more generic hazes. the two buzzes aren't radically different though.

i would definitely pick 8 miles high over kali mist in a one strain only grow, and in general. the new wimpier flavor doesn't sound as interesting either. you still can't get 8MH though until next year, but if you're looking into satori, that should be even better and why mandala charges more for it. satori and ace golden tiger are another member's 2 favorite strains.

the trippiest strain i've tried so far though is jack's cleaner 2. it has a little bit of stone to it, but stays functional with plenty of euphoria (ALL of these strains have that effect, with KM being the happiest), a really cool touchy feely effect that likes when you play footsie with yourself just because and i started laughing my ass off once i realized the imaginary invisible ripples of color emanating from where i was massaging my arm was a true visual effect and the most intense i'd experienced since columbian gold in the 80s.

if you REALLY want trippy in a faster finishing strain, people sweat by jack the ripper & killing fields. look into those if you really want to get old school.

i don't know how trippy malawi gold finishes as mine got burned early in flowering, but the buzz was clearly promising and nicer balanced that speedy kali mist with at least some early trippiness. i'd pick that before KM too, and that's not even factoring in how expensive KM is. if you absolutely have to have the happiest raciest strain though, KM is the kind of high that makes panties hit ceiling fans in record time i bet and has been named a fave with the ladies for menstrual cramps, but i think it just makes ladies to happy to be bitchy. LOL

I'll also add that I've not met anyone who does not like KM.
Hey dude. Given your superb experience in pretty much everything when it comes to growing, I have a couple of questions regarding KM as I'll be putting it in in January.

I will be growing it in soil, currently I'm using Fox Farm Trio but I am running out and I was wondering if I should stick with it or if I should try the AN line, unless you recommend some other nutes.
Also, I was wondering why would your friend's KM would be a little more on the stonier side? Was it a pheno? Was it because he chopped it at 80 days and not at 100? What tips would you have for growing a 100 day strain and maintaining it green?

Thank you so much in advance for the help.

'Soil' usually means your dirt has food in it. So if that's the case, a shot here and there of a well balanced plant food should be all you'll need. I've seen soil growers top-dress their pots as an organic way of feeding, do whatever works for you. Personally I prefer promix and a complete plant food.

His pheno came from a different seed pack and just happens to be a slightly stoney selection. It's still uplifting, motivating, positive and slightly euphoric, my selection just happens to be clearer. Mine also flowers longer and has less 'bag appeal' in terms of what his patients like to see. He's tried mine and is welcome to a cut but he keeps his because he likes it and so do his patients. I'm sure he had slightly 'clearer phenos' as well but the one he chose fits him best.

In regards to growing 100 day strains, I'd pretty much forget about using 'bloom' formulas as they're not going to keep your plants green. Feeding plants is always about 'balance' and while your plants do need P and K, I think many formulas are lopsided in them. Over the course of 100 days, you'll definitely see signs that your plants don't like bloom foods. So, feed lightly, keep those plants green with a nice grow formula, let the plant do what it knows how to do.

Height can also be an issue so either flower them young or train/top/supercrop them into the shape you want. I just topped my KM girls here at day 45 of flower. It's not that they'll 'bush out' with that pruning, it's just that the tops grew past the lights and I want to focus more energy on the budsites that are getting light. Generally, they'll get leggy and stretchy, it's going to take a round or two to learn how to get good yields out of them with the proper training. Kali Mist can be one of the best yielders in your garden when pruned and trained correctly.

This isn't Kali Mist but it's a sativa dominant strain with lots of vigor, this is how I controlled the height:
