Vanilla Kush, Scrog, 2'x7' Closet, 600 watt MH/HPS in DWC

I started some Vanilla Kush 3 days ago, I cross my fingers in hope to get similar results

Distilled water by the gallon from Wal-Mart to be exact... They also sell "Drinking" water by the gallon there, and when you read the fine print it says it is processed by RO... Either way, they are both 0 PPM so I get whatever they have.

Scrog Screen size is 22"x32"... Although, after this grow I'm going to make a screen that is a little skinnier, about 20" this way I can fit it in my closet better... I want to get 2 of these screen in there to grow two plants this size next go-around. If you look at some of the pics the screen is about 1 inch too wide for the closet, so I can't push it to the far left of the closet. But that will all change next grow.

I have also used water at Walmart by the gallon before I hooked my R/O system. So I know what you are talking about when you read the fine print on the jug. When you grow two next time are you going to use the same light?

Looks really good, i had a VK pheno that really loved her nutes, but her smoke was subpar. ppm up to 1500 at week 6. i have 1VK bean left and im germinating it now, hoping for a keeper. good job weaving those tops btw.

Yup, gonna use the same light... I think i can get a wide enough footprint to support two plants in scrog... the reflective material i have on the walls works pretty damn good. Only thing I have to figure out is how to access the plants easy... Lots of leaves fall off and die due to lack of air/light... gotta be able to easily tuck and weave, as well as prune and clean up... might be hard if its the deepest part of closet... gotta think this out more.

PPM is around 500 or a tad higher. Everything seems to be fine, temps staying perfect, no additional nute burn from any of the increases I did. This is the start of week 6 of flowering I believe.

PPM is around 550-600, though I think I need to step it back just a bit.

Roughly 47 days into Flower. First time topping and scrogging so I have no idea if she is on track, ahead of schedule, or behind... I believe this is a 65 day flower strain so I'm about 3 weeks away from chopping, does that seem right?

Finally got my digital camera working so I took a bunch of pics. Enjoy!

Your scrog is looking real good especially since its your first time. Can you take a pic of your plant without the hps light to show the real true greenness. Lol

Pics with the lights off... You can see where I've had some issues with this light feeder (me feeding too much)... But overall I think it looks pretty yummy

i got critical kush and this is the way i want to scrog, so how long did it really take before you went to flower and what was your wet wieght onthe buds? impressive ,you should be proud

From the seed sprouting to flower was 2 months... And no idea on wet weight because she is still growing! I'm about 3 weeks from chopping I'm pretty sure.

Day 52 or so of Flowering...

Everything has been pretty stable, PH right around 5.8, PPM right around 600... No matter what I have the PPM at I get the burnt tips, could this be because of the nitrogen in the veg+bloom nutes?

I'm expecting to see some swelling occur soon, coming up to the last 2 weeks if this goes 65 days of flowering like it's advertised... Haven't looked at trichomes or anything yet just curious if anybody else has ideas on the swelling and when this girl might finish.

Drained my res and filled with plain old water... About 10-14 days from harvest so starting to flush now.

I changed my mind yesterday... Looked at a couple pieces to check out the trichomes and they are almost all still clear... barely any cloudy and almost none amber...

So I put just about 200ppm of nutes in there, I'll check out the trichomes again in a few days and if needed, start flushing again, or I may just add water from here on out and let the water slowly dilute itself to practically nothing.

Ohh my days!! That is an awesome looking canopy and plant! Ive got a Northern Lights scrog going at the moment and if its half as good as yours il be a very happy camper. Great job mate!

I'm so anxious to see how much weight I pull off this. It's super hard for me to tell... My first grow I used CFL's and the buds were big but fluffy... this grow the buds are much smaller because I also topped it but they are very dense... I've counted over 125 buds or so if I'm counting correctly and it's so painful to wait! I can't tell if I'm going to pull 4 oz or 12 oz, etc... I'm driving myself insane with thinking about it...

On a side note... just had a Fruit Spirit seed sprout so that will be my next grow, along with another vanilla kush (hasn't sprouted yet)... Gonna be fun trying to fit two plants in this closet. I was thinking of placing the buckets on something like a furniture mover, that way when I need to tend to the plants I can just slide them out from the back corner of the closet and have the scrog screen attached to the furniture mover. That's for another grow journal though...

OK, back to straight distilled water... Checked trichomes and they are now mostly cloudy, some amber, some clear... I'm 5 days away from 65 so I'm going to chop her down on Sunday I think, day 65, but I'll keep checking...

Side note, it's now a hermie... I literally just noticed a couple weird spots, turned out to be seeds developing... I looked around and found about 5-6 bananas, plucked them all off, and plucked out all seeds that I saw developing, only about 5 or so... I figure there are going to be some I just can't see so I'll get all the ones I see and if I get a handful of seeds at the end of this I'm not upset at all. I'm using common sense here and assuming that it going hermie this late in the game isn't that big of a deal... I'm only 5 days away from chop so I should be able to harvest some potent bud and maybe get some seeds so I can grow VK again. Am I right in thinking this? Much better to hermie in week 8 compared to week 3 or 4... shouldn't affect potency much this late I wouldn't think.

I know what caused it too... a small light leak from a faulty timer hooked up to aquarium lights in the same room as grow... Closet doors are always closed so I'm guessing just a little light was peaking through the cracks from the aquarium. Oh well. Next up is Fruit Spirit and Sleestack x Skunk... My remaining VK seed did not pop open so I moved onto some free seeds I got with my VK order.
