Vanity Lighting

I just bought a vanity light 6-fixture and noticed that it doesn't plug in and only uses wires. I have no problem installing the actual wires (stripped black, white and a copper), I just don't know how I'd be able to lower the vanity so I can keep the distance optimal at 3-4 inches. Any suggestions on how to rig it up?

EDIT:
Or did I just get the wrong kind, and how do I not make this mistake again?

put two hooks in the back and hang it from chains.. if you cant do that, poke two holes close together on each side and put a couple S hooks though there and hang from chains..

If you have a standard PC power cord hangin around, you can snip it at the end and then splice those black and white wires, and the grounding wire. I just used the litte yellow spincaps to splice em. Then u can plug it in normally =]. that worked for me anyways...
