Thanks, I've never really thought about why. Funny because I actually just bought a split unit and am going to be using CO2 here soon.It’s because at high temperatures the plants will bind oxygen instead of CO2 due to the shape of the enzyme they use, which means they lose energy instead of storing it. Adding CO2 helps to counteract this by increasing the ratio of CO2/O2 allowing the plant to store energy even at higher temps.
