so i have a few cfls in a box for my mother and clones and such, and the 400w hps for the flowering area, my question is can i move the vegging plants under the hps for extra light, or will that hermy them or something?

wont herm them but HPS is a fall simulated light every plant has chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b each one absorbs different spectrums of light.. so you want MH or a 6500K spectrum CFL for best results for veggin. but a HPS will do the job . always good to have 2 different spectrums

well i think theyll benefit under that light, its supposed to be enhanced for veg too or something, but its still a shitton of more light than what i have in the veg box

if your saying light intensity then get an MH that will be the correct way to get HID vegging lighting.. but your ballast may not handle an MH bulb.. but like i said you can use that light wont herm

what im sayin is my vegging plants are under 12hours of cfl light (when the flower light is off i move the vegging plants) and 12hours of the HPS

no it will not effect the plant.... but are you saying you are vegging with only 12 hours of light????
