Veg light cycle

Greetings, I usually veg at 24 hours on, but I have added lights and I really want to conserve electricity. I am thinking about going to 18 on, six off. Does anybody run their lights at 18/6, if so how do the plants react. Is this a good idea, or am I seriously going to inhibit growth? What ever time I can take off the on cycle would save me a lot of money, but I don't want to affect my crop. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Peace out.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what people will say -- I've only done 24/0. But it sounds like you're saying that you've ADDED light in terms of power but now want to REDUCE the amount of time the plants are exposed to the light to save on electricity. Maybe it will just even out? Because the plant is exposed to stronger light but for less time?

As for growth, while I've read that 24/0 will get maximum results, the difference between 24/0 and 18/6 isn't a 25% decline in yield -- the difference in yield would be smaller than that.

I run 18/6 when I uppot from my cloning machine to soil (directly in 5 gal pots), thru about 8 weeks of veg then flip. cloning is 24/7 t8 6500k lights.

You do not want to replicate nature. Bugs, mold mildew, rain, hail, humidity, wind, huge temp swings...

I run 18/6 in veg.

I do 24 in veg, I have done 20/4 18/6 but time is money and I've always been happy with 24. smaller clones and autos I do 20/4 to help with stress.
