There are various types of mechanisms
  • PCP
  • Spring Piston
  • Gas Piston
  • Multi-pump
  • Fixed barrel
  • Breaking barrel
I bet recoil varies a lot.

Really sucks because single shot is fine with me but you've gotta use the shitty mag either way.

I have both the gammo whisper and a selection of .22's I can use a suppressor on. The first cold shot with the can is louder than the Gammo by a bit but once it's warm I'd say the .22 is a little quieter. That's shooting sub sonic ammo of course. Putting out a pile of sunflower seeds in the mountains I live in means going out to shoot a squirrel and finding a big ass bear. Same reason we can't keep bird feeders around for long.
Good luck with the tree rats. They get smarter the more you shoot :mrgreen:

Oh yea, we don't put bird seed out until December time. We have bears that raid our chickens enough as it is.

I have a very basic high powered break barrel with a scope. Accuracy is pretty dead on with a bargain basement scope.
Avoid the pointed pellets, they are not accurate imo. The round ones are dead on
 
Quite possible with cal and velocity. I have .17 that shoots lights out but anything over half value wind its like its shot out
