okay, I'm growing in a closet. I removed both doors and put panda film with 2 tarp zip-ups to make a door. I can't really cut any holes in the sheetrock since I rent.

how can I adequately vent, cool, circulate and carbon filter my closet, with minimal duct tubes showing on the outside of the closet?

how many fans do I need?
can I run it like this:

/Intake tube  fan  duct tube  light  duct tube  light  duct tube  carbon filter  exhaust tube/

or do I need a fan pumping clean air in, and a fan pumping clean air out with the carbon filter attached to the fan that is pushing air out?

I'm just confused about how to set up this part of my grow so ANY help is greatly appreciated!

TIA +rep

I was in the same situation as you are with your closet grow. Unable to cut through any walls but still remain somewhat stealth and cool air. You will need to build a box or tent within your closet. Making sure you can suck in cold air from somewhere close to the floor and push the hot air up. I was only able to have a 250w because of the heat and still it was difficult but I had it in the basement and in the winter. I still needed to keep my main door for my closet open when the lights are on so that it would not get too hot, not very stealth but the only way I could deal with the heat.

it's a double door closet with both doors removed

it's about (7'L x 2'w x 8')

why do I have to build a tent? Can't I just have one tube going in and one tube going out?

I'm on a cellphone so I don't have "ms paint" or anything like that. Can someone make a list of materials, and draw a diagram for me so that I can see how something like this would work.

thanks so much!

I want to hang 2x 400w HPS in "euro" hoods and they are coolable via a 6" ducting.

if I need to answer any other questions to make this clearer to anyone, just let me know.

bumpin it ^up
and one for the razorbacks? Sorry, bad joke...

no really though can anyone else give me some ideas for the order to put all the parts in?

would I really want the carbon filter first? Do I need a second fan for a second hood? How would the layout for that go?

is cooling and ventilation always one setup, or are they usually separate?

I have absolutely NO hvac training or experience, does anyone even have a link to a thread that would explain the basics?

If your hoods are sealed, run them on its own air system. For your closet, post an exhaust fan high, you can hang it up, with a carbon filter on it. Use a fan with more cfm than you need because the filter and ducting will be resistive on that fan.

many people use it but its not necesarily needed. what is mostly needed is an exhaust. as long as the room isnt completely sealed you will be fine with just an exhaust fan.
