Ventilation help/cupboard grow

hi guys, i have a 90 CFM exhaust fan in my cupboard for out-take(top left)
the lights: 1x70watt MH and 6x20watt cfl
temps are sitting at 84C on average(height:3.5ft-width:3ft-Depth:1ft)
there are 2 intake pipes at the bottom of cupboard.
I purchased another 90 CFM exhaust fan which would total 180 CFM.
i am considering purchasing a 150 watt hps and ballast to add to the 70 watt MH/HPS,
therefor totaling the wattage to 220 watts.(throw the cfls out)
air cooled hoods could be a possibility..
my question is, would 180 CFM of exhausted air, cool 220 watts HPS?
or would another 70 watt hps be more reasonable as I DO NOT want to deal with heat probs! but obviously i would rather
buy the 150 watt and add it to the 70 watt for yield purposes...

please help guys, thanks a lot

84C (183.2F)? whoa...
You probably have 84F.
How are you measuring the temperature? Is the light hitting your thermometer? You may be getting an artificially high reading. You should shade your meter & measure near plant canopy. How are your plants looking?

I don't know if 180 cfm will cool 220W HPS. Too many variables (ductwork, inlet/outlet locations, air circulation, etc.). 180cfm sounds fine for circulation based on your cupboard size.
I do like air cooled reflectors, and external ballast outside of grow area.
